i went chavez points, i don't think he had the sort of punching arguello had for the stoppage but he would be too much for mancini to live with and takes 2 rounds for every mancini one.
Chavez by mid-round stoppage. Chavez, one of, if not Mexico's all-time best, was not exactly a one-punch KO artist. However, he had a style that was built on simply breaking his opponents' will. Chavez loved to work the body and had a cast-iron jaw. You could hit him with anything and he'd simply smile and press forward. Chavez especially liked to work the body, and he stopped many opponents that way. I feel that Mancini's aggressiveness works against him in this fight, as Chavez loved nothing more than an opponent to come to him. In a true slug fest, both men land these wicked, wicked shots, but ultimately, Chavez' will and chin bests the brave Boom Boom in the end. Think of Chavez' fight with Edwin Rosario. That is how this fight would look.
Chavez via stoppage in a fun fight where Mancini gets the **** beaten out of him. Arguello was already slipping a tad at 135. JCC was at his absolute peak.
Though Boom Boom is fun, Chavez is just a different calibre of fighter. I say he grinds him down for a stoppage late on.
Chavez - Early. Too much firepower for Mancini. It would be all action as long as it lasted - Like a meteorite
Two fighters that I really like. Mancini was super tough and full of courage, but JCC chops him up, just too much of everything for Ray, who was there to be hit. I am sure he would get a few licks in, but I can't see him getting past 6-8 rounds, and his face would look a mess. Arguello vs Chavez would have interested me too.
