I've watched a lot of Julio's fights, but haven't worked my way through my Arguello collection yet, so comments would be appreciated...

I like Arguello by UD. A nice mixture of technique and accurate punches edges it for the Explosive Thin Man.

    How about Chavez's accurate punches?

Yes, his too. This would undoubtedly be a war, but I think Arguello is a better technician overall.

I go Chavez by TKO in a fight for the ages.

I see it this way too...Chavez would have done the same to Pryor as well

Against Arguello? I wouldn't bet on that.

I always felt Arguello might have too much combined range and firepower for Chavez, although the scales would tip increasingly in Chavez's favor as the fight moves up in weight.

135 to 140, I'll go with Chavez............. Chavez was stronger and more proven at the higher weights.......... Arguello only beat "Tankers" or "Shot" fighters at 140 to 147 pounds........

Arguello's wins over "Kevin Rooney, Pat Jefferson & Billy Costello" aren't all that great.........
    :-(

God, Pryor VS Chavez would've been brutal. It may've been more brutal than Pryor/Arguello even.

Chavez is the greater champion all around than Aaron Pryor ever was, but styles make fights........... I'm not sure or sold that Chavez of 1989 / '90 at 140 pounds could've beaten the 1982 / '83 version of Pryor at Jr. Welter..... I just don't know........... Hmmm.

Me neither. I'm just sold on it being pure war. I would actually favor Pryor there, especially if he's getting asthma meds in his water bottle.
