Who's the best fighter Floyd has fought? Arguably lost against the poor mans JCC. But yeah, Meldrick Taylor fought a lot like a brawler, relying on his punches landing first without utilizing his speed for defense. The type of fighter you could catch and beat if you were the type that could eat a few in order to get a good shot in, which is exactly what Chavez did.

Mayweather Jr has a similar flaw in his defense that his father displayed against SRL. Its that style of defense that allows a right hand to the body while utilizing that guard which SRL nailed Mayweather with. If you don't think Chavez would capitalize on this one opening, you are very wrong.

I think Floyd would beat him in a rematch, especially if it was at 140, which I think was an ideal weight for Floyd.

He certainly showed some good stuff at 140 - he had more speed and pop there than he does at welterweight. And he put his shots together with more regularity than he does now.

Mayweather is just a bad style for Chavez. JCC need a guy to stay still to really be effective and he never liked to chase people. Floyd just doesn't get hit much, and even so, JCC doesn't hit hard enough to stop him with just one or two punches.

Yeah, he only had three fights there, but it seemed like the perfect weight for his speed and power. Chop Chop, Henry Bruseles and Gatti will attest to that.

AHH **** i voted for Mayweather on accident...I thought that said Chavez JR...LOLOLOL

Dude you're crazy! Mayweather isn't too fast OR slick for Chavez...Chavez has dealt with probably the slickest boxer of all time in Pernell Whitaker!! and probably the fastest puncher of all time in Taylor!! AND he ALSO fought Hector Camacho!!!

haha wtf are you smoking dude??? Mayweather is too much of a defensive fighter and if he opened up on Chavez he'd get KO'd and probably break his brittle hands on Chavez's titanium jaw. pleaseeeeee!

    Chavez wins this fight.

If JCC's sparring partner Castillo can give Floyd so much trouble, then this ATG is going to put the hurt on him.

That's true but you forgot that Taylor didn't decide to box and stick to that, he decided to brawl with Chavez and even though he did, he still had the fight in the bag till Chavez caught him in the last round. If Taylor just boxed like he was supposed to it would've been 100% his, but no he decided to brawl and put on a show and even though he did he was still winning.

People really make chavez out to be a killer, which he wasn't. He was a great fighter who threw a lot of punches to get fighters out of there by accumulation. Floyd is not a featherfisted fighter and has gotten quite a few guys out there himself. He'd be the same size as Chavez with a lot more speed and smarts. Yeah, he had trouble with Castillo in the first fight, but he learned and made adjustments. He knows how to fight a guy like Castillo and Chavez and would beat them any time.
