Why wasn't this fight made in the 1990s, shortly after the first rematch? They both talked about it, but it didn't happen until 2004!

Surely they could have fought sooner, especially with Randall winning another title at 140lbs?!

I believe Randall was robbed in the second fight, and was mad for a instant rematch but I believe Chavez wanted no part of him at stage of his career.

Chavez ducked Randall in 1994 for a THIRD fight, but, Chavez had other fish to fry like Meldrick Taylor and Tony Lopez for good money..... Come 1995, Chavez had Joe Gamache and Dave Kamau to feast on......... Chavez didn't need Randall to make more cash, he was doin' fine as it was..... Too bad J.C. Chavez had to have a buncha' Mexican homies following him around everywhere he went helping him spend his money in bundles, etc.... Chavez is another vato in the long list of fighters who've earned millions and blew millions...... The fool......

Someone had mentioned on here that Chavez never wanted to fight Randall in the first place. He certainly realized it was a bad style matchup after the second fight. Randalls righthand was killing Chavez.

Yeah I felt bad for Randall. He was a real feel good story. I kind of started disliking Chavez after those fights. He really acted like a sore loser.

Chavez did change after his bull**** draw with Whitaker in 1993..... The post '93 Chavez became a whiney fighter when things didn't go his way... He took on rematches with Taylor and a gimmie fight with Tony Lopez in 1994 to AVOID a rubber match with a still hot Randall.........

I paid for the 2004 rubber fight with Chavez and Randall from Mexico...... Chavez was in real good shape for a guy age 42, while I thought Randall showed up in okay shape at age 43........ Randall was severely faded by 2004........ Chavez won 7 of the 10 rds fought against Randall.... I gave Randall 3 rds at best in 2004........

Agreed. Aarron Snowell came out smelling like a rose after those fights after his train wreck work with Tyson in Tokyo. He kind of legitimized himself as a trainer and followed it up nicely with Timmy Austin, another one of my fav's.

I never thought Snowell was all that bad...... He handled Tokyo in a bad manner.... Snowell was over confident with Tyson in Japan...... Rory Halloway in the corner was moronic......

I think Snowell was an assistant with team Tim Witherspoon in the 80s and he did well there.......

Snowell did well with Randall in 1994-circa.........

    Note:

Off topic but........ I think Jay Bright handled Tyson fine after Tyson was released from the cooler in 1995.......... Despite the '96 loss that Tyson suffered against Holy, it didn't really matter cuz Tyson was just faded and out-classed 2X.........

Ritchie Giachetti didn't do Jack**** for Tyson in the '97 rematch with Holy.......

Snowell was Witherspoons bud early on. It was Bright and Snowell in Tokyo I believe. I never liked Bright, he didnt know **** about boxing and was just a childhood friend as was Horne. Bright lived in the house with Cus, but he wasnt into boxing, he was trying to be an actor.
Giachetti was at least a real boxing trainer, but he didnt really have much time to correct Tysons f'd up skills.

Giachetti was too screamful in the corner / corners...... I never liked his instructions.............. Very Basic.......... Gia: "Snap the jab and follow with the right cross, Goddammit... Come back with the left-hook." Okay?? I'm not impressed with that bull****........

I hated Horne and Halloway on the 'Tyson' team........... Both are assholes' to the max......... Jesus H. Christ.........

Even Rooney was a no bull**** kind of guy, as was Tommy Brooks, who seemed to get the best out of the washed up version of Tyson, but yes Giachetti was a firey little fatass and I think Tyson needed that. Snowell was just too dam green to take on Tyson when he did. Im kind of suprised King went with him.

King liked ASS-KISSERS who followed directions........

Brooks was good for a faded Tyson, but even then (1999-2001) nobody could help Tyson regain his form........ Tyson's skills and reflexes were fading by 1991 against Ruddock.... It was clear to me he was slipping at age 24 / 25...... Tyson's style was suitable for a guy 19 to 23 yrs of age.......
