CHavez, past and present are glorified mid-level fighters. Nothing more. Duran had skill. Chavez would hide behind Don King or the referee if he got in the ring. Duran would make Chavez uglier than his mother made him.

At any weight I believe Roberto makes Julio his *****. Just too good on every level.

At 135, this would be a pretty good fight. The Chavez who spanked Edwin Rosario and shut out Jose Ramirez against the Duran who almost killed Ray Lampkin , and twice demoralized Esteban De Jesus .
The fight would go the full 15 (the thought of a 12 rounder against these two makes me sick) . Chavez was durable as hell at 135 and would have been dead game. But Duran was a little better in just about everything, and would have won a tough but clear decision.

 

He's talking about Jr, people. Anyway, Duran beats him up a la Moore, only it takes a bit longer.


Now Duran vs Sr at 135, that's an ATG battle (that Duran would also win).

 

Duran when he fought Hagler was still a champion caliber fighter with 80 fights. I think he beat Chavez Jr. in about 4 rounds by stoppage. This is the fight Duran would love.

 

Duran would kick the **** out of him.
