Chavez was a beast from 130-140, period.

At his best he was the best p4p fighter in the world & one of the best in the history of boxing.

135 was obviously his very best, he lost a bit of speed & reflexes when he went to 140 but was still a brilliant fighter, it amazes me when I hear people talk as if Chavez was **** at 140, he was amazing, just a little better at 135 due to the reflexes & speed thing... thinking back, perhaps his power & combination punching even improved up at 140, I still say the 135 version was the ultimate Chavez but his best days at 140 were not far off... the man was just an incredible fighter & for a very long time.

He was great at the weights. Should have stayed at lightweight a little longer though.

Defines the word Mexican warrior. Relentless fighter who would take shots just to get his own off and wear you the **** down.

People sometimes underrate him because he has so many Damn title defenses, and no one could touch him.

He fought everyone he was suppose to fight in his weight classes, destroyed them and left them pissing blood.

Offense, defense, and those special nuances that go along with being the best.....Julio Cesar Chavez was just brilliant.
The best most complete fighter I've ever seen in my 30 years of following the sport!

I think he does get credibility on being one of the best. Rightfully so. He was awesome at what he did.

He does get credit for being one of the best, in almost every list he is top 24-25 ATG, but i hate when people that don't know what they're talking about say he was a brawler without defence

He definitely gets less credit here than he does everywhere else.
