Even Chavez's greatest fans will acknowledge that his early competition was crap. Like everyone else on here said, that's because he didn't have a chance to prepare in the amatuers. That really doesn't matter though. His career isn't judged by those early fights. It's judged by the way he whooped ass when he stepped up the competition and his long reign of terror thereafter.
