Ali in he's younger days used to circle fighters very rarely was he just completely running, and he was a lot more offensive than Cruz. And later on Ali didn't look anything like cruz

7:00 La Cruz can stand in front of his opponent and making him miss there, but he chooses to don't do it, that imo is the biggest problem with him turning pro, but my point wasn't compare him offensively with Pep or Ali, my point was that just because a fighter moves a lot, it doesn't means he would get tired by the 12 round.

 

actually in that fight with ward he got hit with some big lefts, if he was fighting without headgear and pro gloves he would have been on he's back

 

He fought without headgear, La Cruz chin is good, he only goes down when he is off balance, but considering how strong Ward is, it wouldn't surprise me if he knock him down someday.

I agree, he has the talent and the skill, but he doesn't have the kill or be killed mentality of the pros and in a division with killers like Beterbiev, Kovalev and Stevenson, that sounds like troubles.
And the fans would hate him.
But he remains the best p4p fighter in the amateurs and i feel that is fine for him and the fans.

 

Update: Just saw an interview of La Cruz today, he said he would fight in the next olympics and will stay amateur for at least other four years.
So he wouldn't be turning pro.

 

That's what I thought. I didn't think he'd ever give any serious thought to turning pro. He's seen by Cuba as the leader of the Cuban national team and very patriotic.
Robeisy Ramirez is also fighting at 2020 Olympics where he will be 26 years old. He wants Olympic Gold x3.

 

Hopefully some of this Cuban team can find their way off the island and go pro.

Or better yet, the Cuban government can finally realise that the world has moved on and their system belongs in the dark ages, and allow these guys the freedom to go pro with their talents

 

Thankfully both trolls mulder and grannicus were banned, mulder was an alt of deyell and had his account shut down, but to say it how it really is, La Cruz would beat every pro light heavyweight in the world with ease and probably beat andre ward very easily to, the haters and detractors want to talk about his style but if you were a real boxing fan you'd appreciate the insane skill,

the true breakdown is how richie woodhall put it, he fights a very negative style but does it in a very positive way! in my opinion he's one of the best fighters to watch, and ward has a much much less entertaining style than cruz has

 

You could put your house on it that cruz would beat beterbiev with ease kovalev and stevenson, and i'm not saying that to discredit them but in all honesty he would make very very light work of all of them!

you clearly know nothing about boxing, and if you actually watched his fights he can stand right in front of you and make you miss with just moving his upper body, aka vs joe ward in the 2015 world final!

I just had to laugh at grannicus has said or should i say lomachenkistbe his new alt, buatsi has already fought cruz and was dominated, you think there would be any difference over 5 rounds in wsb, no there wouldn't so 8 or 10 rounds would again just be a repeat, buatsi is strong but like he himself said cruz was just a step ahead!

sorry cst but your totally wrong on this one, that's what they have always said but he seems to be defensively the best boxer in the sport, does 5 rounds like it's a walk in the park, and because of that relaxed style could do 15 rounds and never get tired! the truth is he'd beat every light heavyweight in the world and as much as the detractors don't want to admit it they know it as well!

 

cruz is way different to jones jr, he's a defensive boxer mainly, not like roy, and la cruz is i think nobody would argue with me here is maybe the best defensive boxer in the world! fights with a high guard when he needs to,

alot of casual fans here don't realize there's long mid and short range in boxing, you can adjust your guard depending on the range and he does that, he's the least hit fighter in the sport
