Chopping right hand and a left up top by Viloria before circling out. Viloria is staying closer now. Miranda is hurt and forced to hold by a savage combo. Miranda tries to hook to the body and then grab. Viloria is right in front of him, digging hard body shots. Miranda throws weak left hooks while backing up, looking tired. Viloria is all over him, applying pressure and landing precisely. Miranda holds. Now Miranda backs up all across the ring. Miranda is tagged with a right hand and slumps against the ropes, playing possum until Viloria is close enough to grab (which was his real objective). Miranda is getting clocked in between every clinch. Big right hands by Viloria. Miranda throws a desperate uppercut after a separation. Wild pendulums by Miranda en route to a clinch. He lands a stray left hook to the body. Viloria is just watching him carefully, like a hawk. Viloria takes small steps back to prepare his defenses and looks to counter.

Round 8

Viloria jumps on Miranda and nails him with an overhand right, before leaning on him and regrouping for the next attack. Miranda is tackling Viloria outright, just flinging his arms out with as much intent to grab as to hit. Viloria is lining up hard rights to the body, only using minimal jabs to set them up. Miranda manages to get some wide body shots in as he puts his head down and rams in. Viloria knocks him back a step with a right hand but Miranda surges in again. Viloria taps him with a hook to the side of the head and then an extended flurry at chest level as Miranda just leaves his head hanging down there. Viloria is backing away, getting headbutted in the ribs and clearly not enjoying it. Cortez is just allowing whatever. Miranda is tapping the body whenever his head carries him through to the promised land.

Round 9

Viloria blocks some clamping combos by Miranda, the left and right thrown together. Viloria still has enough starch in his legs to make Miranda jog across the ring in pursuit, and walk flush onto hard counters. Miranda is getting wobbled badly. Viloria is just quick and precise with everything he throws, and hitting Miranda on the sweet spot. Left hooks land and buckle Miranda's legs. Miranda circles in and presses against Viloria to tie up. Now some body shots by Miranda, pushing down on Viloria's back with his right arm. Viloria tries to hook his arms under Miranda's armpits and hang on as the champ tries to shove him down to the mat or into range for his low-cutting ladles.

Round 10

Viloria is hooking and moving. Miranda is able to run inside, with Viloria not jabbing. The hook is just missing, an inch above where Miranda is ducking his head. Now Viloria starts to pop his jab, but Miranda has already gotten most of the way inside. Body shots by Miranda. Viloria answers back. Clinch. Miranda roughs him up, wrenching him in his arms and then ducking down to come ramming up with the back of his head. Viloria tries to pop a 1-2 but Miranda is on him, leaning and clubbing away to the back. Viloria is just obliging and holding. Miranda is wailing away to the body. Viloria finally takes a step back and lands a good right hand. Miranda just flicks both hands up into his face frenetically.

Round 11

Miranda sticks up a high jab. Viloria circles out to his left and forks out his own jab cautiously. Viloria feints with a right hand. Backward and leftward movement by Viloria. Miranda is all forward. Miranda holds out his right arm as a plank, aimed at Viloria's midsection. Miranda keeps working his way inside and digs some hard body shots. Viloria frees himself from a violent squeezing clinch with an uppercut. Hooks by Viloria as he backs away. Miranda is just grabbing, pushing, and pounding Viloria on the back. Nothing fancy about Miranda's approach. Hard uppercut catches Viloria as he's guided near the ropes with nowhere to back up. Miranda keeps his arms tangled and whacks him to the body.
