Puro orgullo Mexicano. Julio Cesar Gonzalez fought a who's who of the 175lbs division in his prime and past it he never took easy fights. RIP Cesarin.
Is that a fact? 35 in boxing yrs its up there, but damn that's too early to go. Cesar got killed by a drunk driver in a hit and run apparently.
I remember reading up so much on him leading up to the Roy Jones fight. For some reason, I was really into the fight. Read up on it. Went to the meet and greets. Went to the fight. I was only 16 but I don't think i was ever so invested into a fight more than that one. Gonzalez was a real class act. Even met him at Mile Square Park while he was training. RIP champ.
Just got home from a mini-vacation, and can't believe this news. Can't believe I just wrote about him a few days ago about his war with Letterlough and now he has died. Truly sadden to hear this news, R.I.P, Champ.
That's really **** to hear. I Watched his fight with Roy Jones only the other day. He did more than a respectable job that night against a still on top Roy and he went up in a lot of people's opinion after that fight. RIP he was a warrior a good champ and a class act.
R.I.P...I remember him for fight Roy Jones, but I how could I have forgotten about that shocking Darius Michaelscweski victory in Germany.
Rest in peace, we lost a great champion today. I will never forget his victory against the Tiger, who was going for a Marciano record and nobody expected him to fail in that mission.
Julio gonzales gave me my first real beating at rogers park he boxed out of la habra with the brothers I forgot their name but one fought bute twice. I spred with him when he had the little japanese trainer.
