    Very.

Jackson was one of the spoilers of the 80's. His slaughtering of a young Terry Norris who went on to became even bigger speaks volumes towards that.

I think I'd favor Jones, anyway.

I think Jones would just get to Jackson before vice versa.

Don't think it's that interesting to be honest with you, Jones shutout/stoppage.

Jones loved to go towards the ropes at the end of his career.

I don't care if it was a lightheavy Jones against a junior middle Jackson... He does that and he's dead.

I disagree, he had quite a bit of success against guys like Merqui Sosa with it, completely dominated him in fact. Just because Jackson hits hard doesn't mean he'll land, as Jones was very rarely hit clean, even on the ropes. Jones would likely counter the hell out of him and stop Jackson, from any point.

He was hit hard enough to be knocked out clean by feather fisted Johnson on the ropes.

I meant very late career Jones with the ropes comment, anyway.

Well that's a different story then, a prime Jones was the one I was referring to.

I'd agree with you, him laying on the ropes in his prime he'd just counter Jackson.

Don't forget what happened to Norris no the ropes, though. I doubt Jones has a better chin than Norris.

His chin at 168 is better han Norris's at 154 in literal terms. And Norris wasn't near as skilled off the ropes. He wasn't really fighting off the ropes either, just trying to move, while getting backed up.

It was several feet away from the ropes, as can be seen on film. Jones' defence on the ropes was too good for anyone to knock him out there.

As for this matchup, prime Jones will repeat what McClellan did. He stops Jackson in the 1st round with punches to the body.

Jones would be too smart & too fast to get caught with the big right hand of Jackson. Jones' counterpuches would take thier toll on Jackson, who was vulnerable to the knockout himself. Jones via knockout in about seven.

Frankly speaking I didn't see any of Jackson's fights but I still pick Jones with confidence.

I don't think that ANYONE can beat prime RJJ - at least from middle to light heavy..

RJJ should win this one, but Jackson was a very, very serious puncher. A scary puncher, I think one of the p4p hardest punchers ever. If he ever hit Jones flush with one of his haymakers it would be over. He shouldn't be able to find to a prime RJJ however.

I'd have loved to see Jones deal with Jackson, McClellan, and Benn before challenging the Monzonz, Haglers, and Robinsons of the MWs.

I have my doubts that he'd survive fights against all three. One of them will land a shot filled with a general anesthetic.
