I'd like to see hem fight too, but there is no guarantee that
1. how injured opponent would recover
2. if the fought would happen - that Haye and his fans wouldn't yell that he fought in shape.

so let's leave Wlad to choose opponent for June 20 and hope Haye recover fast and get into the rind with Wlad later, maybe after some eliminator bout maybe...

I disagree. even if Wlad vs Haye fight will take place on july 11th and Wlad beats Haye (which is more likely to happen) Wlad won't get any credit for that. All the Haye fans will say David wasn't 100% ready, he was injured, he wasn't healthy etc... so for now it's better to fight Chag and leave Haye for later.

Based on the whole story from the trainer I just read, the guy has been getting cortisone injections in his back. That's not good. Not good at all. That means serious back issues on the scale of the ones that sidelined Vitali. If Wladimir delays this 3 weeks, in 3 weeks he will be looking for someone else to step into Haye's shoes again. Haye is done.

 

I'm sure you would, I'm not questioning that, but trust me, majority of Haye fans wouldn't. They will come up with some lame excuses just to make Wlad look bad.

 

I can tell you right now. Haye won't be ready even by july 11th! Wlad should fight Chagaev, it's the best option available.
