Really looking forward to this fight. I was impressed with the Tiger when I 1st saw him awhile back.
He's as tall as Wlad & has a longer reach. He only has 1 defeat & that came in his 5th pro fight. Since then, he's riding a 27 fight win streak & hasn't lost in 8 years. He's a sourthpaw & we all remember what that southpaw golfer did to Klit.
So all things considered, Tony The Tiger is a hungry old man with enough skills to give Wlad or any HW problems. This is what he's worked his whole career for. People have been writing him off for years. The man has ALOT to prove & on July 12th, not only will it be competitive, but Tony has a damn good shot at the upset.

Tony Thompson is no Ray Austin, so if I was a Klitschko fan, I'd be very nervous.

    (((((((((GO TIGER))))))))):!:

Yea, i hear you. this is a dangerous fight for Wlad. I hope he doesn't take him lightly.

He's a big man, like Klit and a southpaw too.

I hope he doesn't upset Klit.

    ...serious?

I mean, fair play to Thompson and all. But he seems a fighter with a style that'll be much more suiting to making Wladimir look good than Ibragimov.

That all depends on whether Tony fights back or not. If he freezes & just stands there, Wlad may take his head off. But if TT comes in determined & ready to fight & at least tries to force the issue, Wlad isn't gonna like that & prob will be grabbing like a SOB

Until he gets KO'ed that is.

I hope you bring all this back up when the discussion of "caliber of fighters Wlad has knocked out" comes up down the road.

So very true, Wlad will destroy him and then everybody will say that Wlad hasn't beaten anybody.

Your right, he hasn't beaten anybody. Tony Thompson is a nobody.

A nobody with a damn good chance to kick Wlads ass.

No problem there. Nothing wrong with being wrong. But I'm tellin ya, I just have a feeling that The Tiger is gonna be hungry & he's gonna make Wlad look like the fool he is in the ring, when he's up against someone that can give him trouble. Not a Chris Byrd or a Jameel McCline, etc.

Wlad TKO8 in a boring fight. Thompson certainly can bring something to the table, but boxing vs. the pure jabber is a bad idea and he doesn't have the punch to finish Wlad the way a HW should do... I don't see him KOing Wlad...

TT is an underrated fighter that really hasn't got much publicity, his last 3 wins were impressive and is riding one heck of a winning streak. i don't think Wlad takes anyone lightly anymore he was very caustious with Sultan and always comes in with a game plan. Wlad will take this

if you are so sure why not bet all your vcash? and that south paw comparisons reallly need to end. besides of their stance what do thompson and sanders have in common? speed? punching power? thompson is quite solid but nothing special, you can see he has learned boxing at a relatively advanced age. anyway here is a staredown from the press conference and a link to the whole thing. good to see them having respect for each other and even having a meal together...

Offensively , Thompson has the tools to win this fight.

Defensively , I dont like how straight right hands can sneak through his guard.

    It should be interesting.
