Ironically, I saw Marvis Frazier about 5 or 6 years ago as I waited to board a Train in Washington, DC.

But, yes, Tyson destroyed him that day. Hard to believe it's been 32 years.

This was perfect for team Tyson. He was just starting to create a buzz with the public. You have network TV. A famous name in the other corner. A devastating blow out. You wanted to see more. This was a water cooler fight.

Marvis is a super nice man. I was at his house one time and he pulled out a glove from his personal collection signed by probably a dozen champs from one of the HOF weekends as a present for one of my sons who had started boxing at the time. Total class act.

I'm under the impression that Marvis was a better fighter than given credit for. But he likely belonged more in the cruiserweight division if he was looking to become an ATG like his dad.

Marvis was better when George Benton trained him IMO. Joe changed his style.

Yeah I read that Marvis was more of a slick boxer type rather than a pressure fighter like his dad. It may not have mattered vs prime Tyson, but he may have lasted longer if he fought more like Tilis than his dad.

I think someone more objective should have trained and managed Marvis than Joe. Joe would have always looked at Marvis as his son first and a fighter second.
