    So you ask yourself WHY did the referee stop the fight...

    It was because Russell's father had just recently died and this was a "gimme". Rances stood a solid chance of winning, and that would've been tragic for the Russell family at the moment.

    ref stopped the fight to prevent rance from getting killed period. guy had no idea where he was at.
