    This. I think what it does is strengthen the little muscles around your calfs to enable you to be constantly on your toes - which is key for boxing.

    Skipping improves your "bounce", calves, arms, and back. High stepping is good conditioning. It also helps you exert yourself "in rhythm" improving your mind/body connection.

    I try to never stay in one place or on one pace. Last thirty seconds of every round is high stepping.
