On the undercard of the Pavlik vs Lockett fight in Atlantic City. Does Ponce do him like he did Basitia or does Lopez show he's the real deal??? Either way should be a great fight.
Juan Manuel Lopez. Tough call. I like Lopez easily based on skills, but will his chin hold up? Has his chin been tested by someone who hits even close to as hard as PDL yet? If PDL cant get him out of there early, does he have any chance at winning enough rounds to get a decision? Well probably, based on the ridiculous scores of his bouts with Penalosa and Escobedo, he is no stranger to getting help from the judges. Still, I'm gonna go with Lopez with a points victory. Im looking forward to this one.
Lopez by late tko. Ponce swings way to wild and will eventually get tired. Lopez is the rising star so I don't think Ponce will get help from the judges.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQimPyKgm6Q listen to that punch at 0:01 seconds....I want JuanMa to do that to PDL
Daniel Ponce is a crapy fighter . . . and JuanMA is a good boxer but untested . . . so this is really interesting . . . if JuanMa doesn't get caught and can take the heat . . . he'll win this. :yep
how many believe that if juanma wins, pdl will suddenly be interested in avenging his loss to caballero.
Caballero and DPDL supposed to have their rematch fight but I think DPDL got scared and instead goes for JuanMa. DPDL avoiding a Caballero rematch and a potential schooling again.
I haven't seen Lopez, but looking at his sheet tells me that this is a couple of steps up. Sheets don't mean the world, but to me Ponce is a very good southpaw, despite his wild swings(which does hit home alot) - he also varies his shots, doing body and headwork. I would be ignorent to call this, when I haven't seen one of the fighters, so I won't...
