Miguel Cotto sells BIGTIME in NYC. I don't know if Alvarez or Chavez Jr.. would go for this, but do you have any idea BIG a Miguel Cotto vs Alvarez or Chavez Jr. in NYC / MSG on Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend of 2012...WOW! And you could have a Mexico vs Puerto Rico PPV card:

    Juanma vs Salido II
    Arce vs Vazquez II

More than likely it would be Chavez jr (being a TR fighter). But it would still be a huge fight.

All the restaurants would shut down from the mexicans calling out. I guess a few call centers would miss a couple of puerto ricans, lol. :hat

Do you think Chavez would actually take a fight in NYC knowing that Cotto is 8-0 there with a dubious decision win over Clottey?

    I don't.

Cotto seems too small for a MW

Pacquiao will probably be fighting Marquez in June. So a Cotto/Chavez Jr. fight would probably take place in July

I agree it will be a tough sell...but please do not use Clottey as your example. Chavez carries a MUCH BIGGER name than .....I forgot his name already:lol:

I hate the fight but it makes sense for top rank.
If cotto beats Chavez then cotto /pac 2 gets made for pac's 9th division title.

    don't remind me.

Remember how all those Pacquiao fans were SCREAMING for Floyd to "step-up" and fight Pacquiao. Now they are creating ton of threads and post begging Floyd to fight SOMEONE ELSE....ANYONE ELSE PLEASE:|. They wont admit it, but I think they see the light:bbb. Anyway, let's stay on topic...Chavez vs Cotto in NYC would be BEYOND HUGE. I think I would have to jump on a fight and make my way to NYC.

I highly doubt pac would fight Cotto at 155lbs.

No thanks. Cotto has no buisness fighting a guy as big as Jr, especially when his opponent wouldnt even be able to make 154.

I'd rather see Canelo also, but with Chavez being a TR fighter, I just thought it would be much easier for Punk ass Arum
