hmm true but i still think JDS's takedown defense and scrambles are too versatile and fast for any person in the heavyweight division.
really? he did get taken down easily and submitted in less than a minute. Give JDS more time and fights before hyping him up to be on par or even close to prime Fedor. Stop hyping UFC fighters up, let them prove themselves through more experience and more fights, just as the old guys who fought 20 or 30 or even 40 or more fights.
Cain's level of wrestling background isnt anything to brag about. Lindland and coleman is infinitely more experienced and better wrestlers. Cain isnt doesnt set the bar in terms of wrestling.
To be fair Stoo, JDS did defeat a BJJ grand master in Fabricio Werdum. Hmmm that name seems familiar [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBK7LT5A9wo[/ame]
Nah, the Ref stopped the fight before Fedor got his arm snapped because evil Danan didnt want him to win, he was beating Werdum easily Early stoppage :-(
Lets see how long JDS can hold onto the belt before we go comparing him to Fedor. We already went through this with Brock Lesnar. Be patient.
Fedor should be favoured over any man to ever compete in MMA if we`re talking prime v prime IMO... he has looked the most unbeatable & for the longest stretch of any fighter in history.
Bones Jones 2014 versus prime Fedor that could be interesting, until then the Russian will always be the favorite in mythical matchups
It's funny watching Morono talk about JDS. He clearly wants to hate him because he's in the UFC, but the fact that he isn't hyped and has proven himself by coming up the right way means he can't. He must be terrified of Cigano beating Overeem and Cormier as that will blow his 'he's never beaten a K1 level striker/top wrestler' schtick totally out of the water.
Yeah I didnt exactly see JDS spend too much time on the ground with Werdum, come back when JDS submits Werdum. Werdum is a submission wizard. For example: An average MMA fighter can submit prime Mike Tyson but has very little chance of out boxing him. Or an average MMA fighter might be able to out strike Alexander Karelin but most likely not out wrestle him. You get my drift?
Go through my previous posts, ive always supported JDS, ive been pointing out that he was the most legit UFC HW fighter and the most proven (thats still relevant and in his prime). However, JDS is nowhere near as proven or experienced to be compare with Prime Fedor. Come back to me when JDS has more fights, been on top for a longer period at the top, and has racked up better wins. I now rate the UFC HW fighter as Overeem>JDS as 1 and 2. Previously I had JDS at number 1 before Overeem joined.
