Seriously guys. Overeem is better on the feet and also on the ground. JDS has only a puncher's chance. JDS is too much of a one-dimensional fighter to keep the title for a long period of time and Overeem is the worst match-up for him.
The people who bring up the fights from PRIDE days don't know WTF they are talking about. Overeem stand-up skills are far more polished. He trained exclusively in striking for 3 years with the best strikers out there.
Overeem will take UFC heavyweight division by storm and he will embarrass Dana White and his Zuffa Zombies for all the stupid things they said about the fighters outside UFC.

If you compare both fighters, Overeem just comes out on top. Look at his experience in K-1. The worlds best strikers are there. He's bigger and stronger. Then compare what kind of arsenals each fighting brings to the ring.
Im sure it will only take 1 punch from JDS to hurt overeem which could happen as we all know anything can happen in mma.

    Overeem TKO 1st round.

Overeem should play smart. Use his reach, kicks or even go for the take-down. I don't think JDS Jiu-Jitsu is really that good. Practice it's not the same as actually applying Jiu-Jitsu in an MMA fight. Also Overeem has submited Belfort who is also a black belt.

Have you ever heard the term " striking for MMA " ??? , and do you know what it means ..................... ???

dos Santos has the better striking for MMA IMO , K1 bears no resembelance on the outcome of this fight , Overeem winning the K1 GP proves he's a striker of note in a kick boxing emvironment

Now ................... please dont get me wrong here , Overeem is a striker of note in MMA but .................... dos Santos for me has refined his style to suit MMA more so than Overeem , this will be evident when Overeem gets hurt and stopped

Jesus ****ing christ , are we back to the ESB MMA forum being home to MMA mongs talking **** :nono

This isnt kick boxing dude , this is a fluent fight which involves exchanges on the feet and the ground , for that you need speed and athletisim especially when fighting dos Santos , Overeem is a one paced striker who can wrestle and grapple , but he has no cardio !!! , once dos Santos puts him in a couple of uncomfortable situations he's gonna get tired and make a mistake , and dos Santos will stop him , why !!! ??? because he's a better fighter

Yes I have heard the term and it seems like an idea which people to use when talking about JDS so that they can ignore his striking flaws :deal

There are obviously differences between the two sports but it's still striking! I just do not understand how people can think otherwise....

What shite, How the **** is it even conceivably possible that K-1, which when Overeem fought there was the highest level of striking in the world not have any bearing in MMA which includes striking as one of its main features. Absolute tripe...

Mate you've turned into a dick real fast.... Explain to me how K-1 striking has no bearing in an MMA fight which will almost certainly be a stand-up fight?

and yes I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about fight sports.

Do you not understand queens English ????

Look man ........................ Overeem is a striker , dos Santos is a striker , Overeem is the more decorated striker outside of MMA but dont let that fool you that he'll win this fight because of that , it takes years to refine your style and truly find whats effective in the sport of MMA when being a striker

dos Santos has done that a) more so than Overeem and b) more effectively than Overeem

My opinion !!! , which will be solidified when Overeem gets sparked

    Peace :smoke
