I am not interested in this match up at all. Surely the UFC could have got Barnett as a replacement instead

I understand why this fight was made. Mir is the highest ranking available fighter for Dos Santos. Still, **** this fight. Dos Santos is going to beat Mir up, and it's not going to be that competitive.

This was the one time you got the chance to justify Hunt getting a title shot, and with a reduced chance of the fight going to the ground.

Hunt doesn't deserve the opportunity but if they wanted to make a fan friendly scrap with a guaranteed KO Hunt was that man. :yep

 

People need to remember the fight goes to the ground Franklin has sensational submission abililty. Frank doesnt need much time to get a hold on. Lets not be so quick to dismiss his chance here

 

The problem with Frank Mir is he needs to get punched in the face to take the fight to the ground, and if he takes that punch which he inevitably will have to, the fight will be over before he can start breaking limbs.

You're right, he doesn't deserve the opportunity under normal circumstances. It's justifiable only because it's a short notice fight with Overeem unable to get licensed.

I think Hunt makes for an interesting match-up in that Dos Santos doesn't normally take his opponents down, and standing with Hunt gives Hunt a chance against practically anybody. I would give Hunt a much better chance than I give Mir.
