JDS knocked him the **** out but then I do think the stoppage may have been a bit early. No hate on Herb Dean, it was hard to tell. I think Yvel had his wits about him but was trying to weather the storm. Nevertheless, he took too many incoming shots. When hurt, it's not about surviving. It is about being in a position to show you are surviving otherwise the ref will step in.
He certainly did. Was that brutal enough for you ATG? JDS was in charge from start to finnish, he looked extremely comfortable and in control. Another very good performace from him. Another solid name on his resume. Bad night for Yvel, of course there's no shame in losing to JDS. Yvel just looked like he was always a couple of steps behind, especially when they exchanged, looked uncomfortable trying to close the distance, he just could't seem to get anything going.
Even in defeat im still keen to see Yvel in action...If Randy and Coleman can main event cards then no reason why Yvel cant get another big fight soon..Personally think he could beat both those guys right now... De Santos is the real deal...Would love to see him lay a few on ****wit Mirs face..
Yvel comes to fight so I'm keen to see him again. Unfortunately, JDS is just a monster at the moment. The guy has bombs in his hands. JDS is quickly making himself part of the Lesnar, Mir, Nog, Carwin, Cain pack. It's a high level pack and he's blowing guys away.
Indeed, hard to put that on Herb Dean. When I first saw it happen he looked pretty helpless, but watching it again you see he really did try to cover up, was getting tagged on the back of the head with "illegal" shots, and was defending himself intelligently against the legal shots. Cant really fault the ref on that, Yvel could win that matchup with his big one shot power, but I think his chances against Dos Santos are very slim.
I think it all comes down to positioning. McCarthy always tells the guys to improve their position. He lets them know that if they don't he'll stop the fight because they LOOK vulnerable and/or helpless.
