Who would win this Super Six tournament at 122 lbs. I haven't including Rigondeaux for two reason, 1 - 95% would pick him to win and 2- It's unlikely he'd be invited to such a tournament and if he was, most guys would pull out. The Field: Carl Frampton Scott Quigg Kid Galahad Leo Santa Cruz Abner Mares (moving down from Featherweight) Anselmo Moreno (moving up from Bantamweight) The fights: Stage 1: Carl Frampton v. Anselmo Moreno Leo Santa Cruz v Kid Galahad Abner Mares v Scott Quigg Stage 2: Carl Frampton v. Kid Galahad Leo Santa Cruz v Abner Mares Scott Quigg v Anselmo Moreno Stage 3: Carl Frampton v. Scott Quigg Leo Santa Cruz v. Anselmo Moreno Abner Maes v. Kid Galahad Same format as the Super Six, 3 pts for a KO, 2 pts for a decision, 1 pt for a draw. Semi finals, 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd. Who wins
Stage 1: Carl Frampton v. Anselmo Moreno- Frampton UD Leo Santa Cruz v Kid Galahad- LSC Stoppage Abner Mares v Scott Quigg- Mares UD Stage 2: Carl Frampton v. Kid Galahad- Frampton stoppage Leo Santa Cruz v Abner Mares- Mares on points Scott Quigg v Anselmo Moreno- draw Stage 3: Carl Frampton v. Scott Quigg- Frampton UD Leo Santa Cruz v. Kid Galahad- Mares UD Points: Frampton 7 Mares- 6 Moreno- 3 LSC- 3 ===== Quigg- 1 Galahad-0 Semi's: Frampton UD Leo Santa Cruz Mares UD Moreno Final: Frampton MD Mares.
Stage 1: Carl Frampton v. Anselmo Moreno- Frampton UD (tough matchup for Moreno in his first foray into the div) Leo Santa Cruz v Kid Galahad- Galahad MD (Southpaws seem to give LSC trouble and stunt his work rate and KG switches back and forth...but...LSC with the experience and edge in power...I don't know) Abner Mares v Scott Quigg- Mares UD (Mares is pretty big and has been in with better comp to this date)
No Rigondeaux? Probably more competitive without him but don't think it is fair to have all the top guys fighting each other to be number 2 and just leave out him. Mares and Frampton are likely favourites to win, Mares before the Gonzales fight was beating most of the top guys in and around that weight, Mareno style could cause most listed big troubles many had him borderline top 10 P4P before the Mares fight.
For realism purposes I didn't include him. I doubt he'd get invited, and if he was the big names might steer clear of this.
Kinda thought that but then you leave Rigondeaux without any challenges for a few years. These tournaments take time with injuries and all.
:rofl Seems true, most posters would rather discuss the same topic over and over again on why the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight hasn't happened been that way it seems sense 2009 on this forum.:verysad
Keep 'em coming though. They're a nice change of pace...:good (Even though collating them at some point would be helpful just for the sake of reference).
Make a thread about Mayweather or Pacquiao in a similar style to your normal threads and watch battle commence between the *****'s and the *******s. :yep
