You hear people today use the term toxic. That's one thing. How many are straight Poisen? One of the exciting smaller fighters in the lighter divisions. Here was a guy that had the frame, arm reach etc to box to safety in theory. He chose to punch, slug and it was entertaining for the fans. Another excellent NY product.
Jones was like a smaller version of Thomas Hearns and was seen as the next Hitman of the smaller weight class at the time. His major flaws were his fragile chin and bad stamina. Win or lose he's always come to fight and has been in some highly entertaining fights. Fun fighter, dynamite right hand, great jab, average defense, fragile chin. Looking at his coordination and speed and power its hard to see him losing that much. He did have those flaws which will always rear their head at some point.

You know what's funny you say he had bad chin and suspect stamina. Which I agree with. But in the 2nd Barrera fight, He actually come on strong late on, and actually dug deeper than Barrera to pull out the decision. Which was strange because like you said he had suspect stamina but not so in that fight. I always did enjoy Junior Jones's fights against British fighters Paul Ingle, Richard Evatt, very underrated fights.
