Yep it’s an absolutely unreal take tbh from a well known poster and actual boxing fan. You’d expect that sort of post from one of these YouTube boxing fans who doesn’t watch the sport. Tommy is rubbish and that’s putting it very lightly.

If you're a novice boxer like TF and you can earn nearly £20 million fighting Jake Paul x2 and KSI then why wouldn't you do that, what an absolute dream. Retire and then literally do anything else that isn't getting punched in the head reptitively

Some people end a month of working their backsides off by receiving a pay packet that barely cover the cost of their rent/mortgage, bills and food, they have families to feed. This tool has made an absolute fortune and won a pantomime boxing match and he's crying, any pressure on him is created by himself for playing at boxing and swapping having a job for coining it in being a reality TV star. The lad isn't cut out for boxing or living in the public eye. Heart of glass.

Tbf to Tommy he’s cracked it. A multi millionaire at 23 with a successful businesswoman missus who is a multi millionaire in her own right. Like you said the lad can pretty much continue this celeb boxing risk free taking in millions for fights where he’ll incur no real harm. I imagine he can also command scores of thousands of pounds for a simple ad or promo on social media.

Cant knock it tbh. He’s won at life.

But fact remains he is a very poor boxer.

Its easy as a spectator. Always a different story when your the one in their doing the fighting.

The youtube kid isnt all that bad either. I call him the youtube kid but tbf hes been training as a professional for a good few years now....with half decent pro trainers
and the best of everything with gyms diet sparring etc. Can tell hes not a natural boxer....but hes a harder fight than people give him credit for.

If fury dedicates himself which he probably wont....he,ll do well albeit at a lower level. Hes a relative novice. 8 fights into a career against opposition up till tonight thats been laughable.

I dont think anyone was expecting him to turn up looking like his brother tonight.

But in terms of where he was going in....hes a lot better than i thought he was.

What exactly are you judging that by tho? Its a bit like your watching two relative novices fight expecting them to be the standards of boxing champions.

    Silly stuff.

I think everyone knows neither are going anywhere in the grand scheme of things.

I thought fury was fighting people with ridiculously bad records because he was absolutely useless. I think the truth is its because their cheap opponents more than anything else. If he continues a serious boxing career....he,ll beat guys with a lot better records than hes beaten. He,ll do allright mainly because theres a lot of useless heavyweights out there and hes actually not bad as a 23 year old at that sort of level.

Just seen your thread saying jake paul will beat tommy easy....no wonder your over compensating.

At least it wasn't as bad as that Andrew Flintoff farce a few years ago.

That’s an embellishment because I never said Jake would “win easy”. I said that I thought Tommy was “in big trouble” which he was because he was knocked down by a jab and repeatedly tagged by left hooks. The power puncher in there was Jake. Tommy has been boxing since he was a young teenager. There are amateur fights online and you can’t really see any discernible improvements at all. If Jake works on his stamina and output in the rematch he could well win it.

Sure I picked Jake but at the end of the day Tommy was KD, didn’t look like hurting Jake at all throughout the fight and it was a SD win. That clearly represents “big trouble” which is what I said in my thread.

Also you just said that Tommy could beat heavyweights? That was at CW and there’s no chance Tommy beats any HW with a winning record based on last night. He would go back to operate at LHW if he is serious about boxing as a serious pro and he’d get cleaned out at British level. He has no power and lacks basic fundamentals which is why he will probably just operate on this celebrity circuit.

I think Tommy has got 'something' about him to work with. I wouldn't be putting any huge amounts of money on him winning a British title, but I think you can tell he's been boxing since he was young. Looks natural in the ring, shows some good movement and stamina, some quality in the jabs and hooks.

The main concern is lack of power, almost looked like a smaller Hughie Fury last night - he needs to work on sitting on his punches at the right time. When Jake started gassing he should have been able to get him out of there. It will help going back down to LHW, but could he even get to super middle? A lot of unnecessary muscle there, not sure what those chest and trap muscles are doing for him (or how he got them).

At 23 he's got time but he's got to decide quite soon if he wants to be a serious boxer. I'm sure they'll cash in the Paul rematch (no doubt Jake will start mouthing off nonsense again soon) but after that he can either have a real go at the pro ranks, or find himself a niche where he takes no risks but still assumes the character of 'real boxer' to clean up the youtubers. He should have enough to stay ahead of them for a while.

Thing is how many times have people labelled novices useless after a handful of fights? It’s too early to distinguish what level Tommy can get to yet tbh. You’re only going to know when he fights someone half decent. But why bother when you’re getting paid millions to fight YouTubers?

At least it wasn’t a fix I guess. I dreamed I paid for the event, the relief I felt on waking was palpable.

Fully agree, I think this whole Youtube Boxing is a circus but as a young lad he was under huge pressure, under a huge spotlight so don't blame him for being very happy/relieved about the outcome.
