Then we'd see more 154 talent move up to the weaker, more prestigious, better paying division.

Deep junior divisions and weak historical ones balance out quickly because of the prestige factor. There's a reason the 154s today simply talk about moving up to 160 but don't actually do it.

Outside of Golovkin(and thats only recently), what big money fights are there at 160 for someone like Charlo, or Lara etc?

What makes 160 a better paying division.

The original 8 divisions are an easier sell because of the history involved. For those looking to develop their own name, becoming Middleweight champion or top contender gives your career more of a boost than being an ABC beltholder or contender at 154.

Cruiserweight/heavyweight work the same way, as do 140 and welterweight. Some guys will naturally stay behind because they really are just a better fit at the lighter weight, but the bigger dogs will go after the bigger paydays that the original 8 tend to offer. So, if the more historically prestigious division is thin, you'll see more smaller fighters move up from the deeper division to balance it back out. That's also why you rarely see huge names cap out as a career 154- typically, you either stay at 147 or use 154 as a stepping stone to 160.

There's exceptions to this in the short run, but the long-term trend is consistent.

Take PBC's stable, for instance. It's got many more 154 fighters than can possibly be titleholders for Al, yet he's not moving his 154 guys up to challenge Jacobs despite the need for an opponent. Instead, he's having Jacobs rematch Sergio Mora. He wouldn't maintain a logjam at 154 and resort to using the Latin Snake for Danny's fight if he thought some of those guys could take out Danny at 160.

What makes 154 a big money division? No one cares about the Charlos, Trout, Lara, Andrade and Williams that much, they definitely aren't marquee names yet even here. So stop acting like they are, Canelo and Cotto are the only two marketable names in the division at this point and one can't make the weight anymore, and Cotto who knows what he's going to do, he mentioned moving back down to 147, he could just retire.

Seeing Lara or Charlo etc. face an opponent like Jacobs, Quillin, Lee or Lemieux would be a hell of a a lot more fascinating and marketable than any of them fighting Vanes Martirosyan and Willie Nelson fo the 20th time.

Still doesn't answer who there is outside of GGG whonany of those guys could fight for big money.

They can make as much money fighting each other at 154 as fighting Jacobs, Saunders, Lee at 160.

Besides both Charlos have said they'll be moving to 160 in the near future.

Probably only one fight or so Wach left at 154

So if neither division is a big mine division, the why move up
Why go fight bigger guys for the same amount of money.

Outside of GGG who is a money spinner at 160?
Even GGG isn't exactly a Maywrsther or even Canelo in terms of revenue generation.

Will fighting Lemieux or Lee or Saunders bring in any more money for the Charlos than fighting Williams or Andrade or Smith?

You're all such star ****ers, all you want to see is the "name" guys facing other "names" regardless of the actual threat any of them pose, I have zero problem with GGG facing any of the guys at 154 or 168, I doubt fighters in either division would trouble him all that much, but I just happen to think MW has the better talent all around, they may lack name recognition, but they'd put up more of a fight and any of these 154lbers. I prefer seeing competitive matches to blowouts and the reality is BJS and CEJ as little of a chance as they may have against GGG, they'd offer far more resistance than ****ing Jermall and Jermell Charlo.

I disagree, and I think you know your boxing better than that. No way in hell there is more talent at 160 right now. After GGG and Jacobs there is a bit of a drop off. Lemeaux would get schooled by a guy like Williams, Andrade, or the bigger Charlo, so would Lee, and Eubank Jr.

    Oh look the hater....

And Cotto was lineal at 160 pounds after being chased out of his division by Austin Trout.

But please go on tell me how talented Centeno is and thats why he was not on your original list of fighters you hate on because some other posters make fun of 160 while your man crush campaigns there.

Who's being a hater? Facts are facts, most JMW's would be slaughtered at MW, like I said on another thread GGG isn't even my favorite fighter, I wouldn't put him top 5. But just like with IB doing his thread the other day about GGG, everyone assumes he's lying and is a big time GGG fanboy. Find some other goon to accuse of having a man crush I've criticized GGG and Sanchez plenty on here.
