I just tried to sign my kids up for the next Junior Olympic tournament in New England but we are from New York and i was told that we would need to compete in our own state. Does anyone know if and when is the JO tournament in NY? I searched usaboxingmetro but found nothing....

Ask your gym. But you would need to at least wina state title and maybe a national title to even get considered.

My kids are only 10 and 12 and its hard enough to book fights for my little girl. I know that this is correct for the actual Olympic games but are you sure this is correct information for kids of their age?:?
If so then do you know of any tournaments in NY that will put them in a postion to compete for these titles? I have asked people at the gym but it seems that their main concern is the older boxers who are competing in the golden gloves at this time.

It's no true at all, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Just go to the gym. And maybe call the registration chair that's listed for NY Metro. Seriously, if they're in a gym their coach should know this.
