Junior Super 6?

To give more exposure to lesser level fighters and not have the usual crap challenging for world titles i thought of a mini super 6 for propects would help.

6. Loser 3 V Loser 2 - Wooden Spoon

7. Winner 4 V Winner 5 - 1st Place
8 . Loser 5 V Loser 6 - 3rd Place
9. Winner 6 V Winner 8 - 4th Place

Imagine what this would do for Prospects and gain the attention of casual fans

Im not up to date with the welter prospects, im just using an example if you know what i mean. Im trying to explain the format rather than the fighters in the tournament. the fighters are off the top of my head.

Looking back i should have included Perez in the heavies

 

Well the way I see it, SMW for example has a total of 10 top fighters

So then you got the prospects who are more than likely to fight Bums that will in no way prepare themselves for the Top Tier. So why not put them in with each other?

Anthony Dirrell
Peter Quillin
Shawn Estrada
Dominic Wade
Marco Antonio Periban

Just pick the top 6 of these fighters (or knowing the broadcasters, theyll go for popularity / Nationality ) Hence Degale, Groves, Rodriguez, Oosthuzien, Quillin and Dirrell are locks for a super 6 junior tourny.

The winner gets first pick at world level with the runner up getting another world champ / big name.

The other fighters can then fight with the other up and coming fighters or go for top journeymen, gate keepers etc.

The fights in the super six shows what happens when you put the best with the best, this is what boxing should be

 

Thats the thing with tournaments like this even the losers get something out of it . . . unless they come last

Round 1 - Fight 1 - Fight 2 - Fight 3

Round 2 - W1 v W3 - L1 V W2 - L2 V L3

Finals - W1 V W2 - W3 V L1 - L2 V L3 ( all on same card - massive bill )

Aftermath - W1 V ABC Champ - L1 V ABC Champ - W2 V W3 - L2 V L3

Every fighter gets knocked out of the tourny after a loss, with the exception of round 2 ( points system of sorts to decide which loser gets a second chance)

The Finalists both get a shot at an ABC champ ( E.g. Bute IBF, Kessler WBO)

The runners up would fight each other in the aftermath of the tournament to settle 3-4-5-6 places. Then if they so choose they can fight the winners of the tournament depending on their performances.

The problem with boxing is that it caters to the casual fan and the casual fans perception is the 0. thats what attracted me to the sport at first but I gradually grew to accept that a loss doesnt degrade a fighter. more casual fans need to start thinking like this too and thats what this tournament is about
