Witter looked dejected, says it was an injury to his elbow, but i think he left his heart in the lockerroom
Point taken, but i don't think Hatton was given much choice as too his departure as he new **** all about it:smoke
I think time just caught up with a reflex fighter, no disgrace there.:good He looked way off wuth his punches.
I could only follow it on boxingwatchers.com 4 the round by round verballs, he was 5/2 down on their cards but i agree with you, time caught up with him, i've allways liked the feller, not charismatic as is required today 2 put bums on seats ect, but it's a shame that he'll not get the credit for being a class boxer:smoke
I think he got frustrated and felt he was'nt doing well and the cut bothered him so he pulled out...For me thats poor. I think have one to more domestic fights then retire. I think he's looked after money well...i hope
Unless he had a serious injury, quitting as he did in a world title fight is unacceptable. Witter had his chance tonight and blew it big time. Real shame, a win would've tee'd up a unification fight with Khan. Witter looked gutted in the post fight interview yet it was his decision to quit!
Yeah i'm bit angry with him atm...also cos fact im being ridiculed for praising him. But i think he's lost what he had and when fighters like him lose reflexes they dont have fundementals to rely on. I didnt like that ending....not like he was taking a beating or getting hit on regular basis.
Being a fan of hatton i dont want to sound like a witter hater. But although ricky has never been the most talented of fighters i dont think you would ever see him just blatantly quit like that.
no u wouldnt pottypete and witter has made a laughing stock of the british fighters on the general forum, and imo it was bound to happen, the guy was never world class
Did you watch it? What did you think? Like Flint Island, I was out last night, but not with Fat Joe. I was in Chez Gerard.
:good I'm absolutely gutted for both Witter and Nate, but thats what happens when you are over the hill and you get in with young fresh fighters. Witter is a reflex fighter and as such has been way too inactive to either maintain his skills or truly know when he was on the wane...in the middle of a WBC title fight is a terrible place to find out you don't have it anymore. Gutted.
No, not seen it yet. I'll try and catch it later. Sounds like he got old in there. Sad as it is, time to call it a day I think.
