Witter wanted that fight years ago to prove he was better than Ricky. If Ricky was an honourable champion he would have fought him. The same way Kostya gave Ricky a shot was the same way Hatton should have given Witter a shot. But he cited a myriad of pathetic excuses instead. We all know "why" Hatton refused to fight Witter back then as did Warren. Anyone willing to argue the toss is either an idiot or blind.

As for their career paths its hardly surprising Hatton did better. He was given a marvelous start with stellar silver spoon treatment and was Warrens nest egg.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:patsch:patsch:lol::lol::lol: I guess you weren't into boxing when Hatton was fighting B/C level fighters for about 5 years for the WBU?

Because he offered him a nice juicy financial deal? When did Witter do that then?

Please dont quote factual statements when arguing with Hatton fans. Ricky "was" a world champion back then you know. Sports Network said so! Even Ricky believed it! Do the WBU even have mandatorys? Or was a broom and a cab the only requirement?

That old chestnut  So Ricky says he's going to fight Witter for the best part of 10 years but now Witter needed to be Donald Trump in order to make the fight? You are aware that Ricky made less than Kostya that night right? Nah didnt think so.

Err, yes, that's what I said wasn't it?

Tszyu didn't go to Manchester to fight Hatton because he was an 'honourable champion' or thought Hatton 'deserved a shot' he went because he was offered a nice big wedge of money.

Erm he was offered that nice wedge of money because a) he was going to fight Harris but then wanted to retire instead. b) Warren had to make the bout or he would have lost Ricky. c) Ricky at the time was the IBF mandatory. Please do not casually ignore the circumstance to try and bolster what is already and extremely feeble argument.

So how does any of that factor into your argument that Tszyu kindly offered Hatton a shot because he was an 'honourable champion'? Point b is entirely irrelevant and a and c if anything refute your argument. I think you've actually forgotten what you were trying to argue.

Hatton was always too good for Witter. He should not lower himself by taking a match against that fraud.
