I'll start with I think Harris will be too strong for Witter. All but his fight with Maussa, he's been pretty damn solid, Witter's quick and definitely has skills, however I don't think he can hang with the elites and Harris IMO will be capable. Harris KO late rounds.
Witter will either win on points or via late stoppage. He's such an awkward boxer to win rounds against consistently. He'll keep Harris at the end of punches and look to counter. The one major flaw with Witter, he keeps his chin in the air. Harris will be made to think and solze a puzzle like never before. It should be an interesting fight for as long as it lasts. Harris' straight right hand down the pipe will probably be his key weapon. Witter does pack a serious punch, but never delivers power punches enough on his opponents. Mainly because of his balance and unorthodox style. Witter is a very confusing fighter, period.
I'm somewhat excited to see the result of this fight because I'm interested to see how both do. Harris is inconsistant. He obviously has talent, but can he put it all together? I am interested to see how Witter performs because Harris is the best fighter he has faced since Zab Judah. I'd be willing to say Harris is better than Lovemore N'Dou and DeMarcus Corley. Too bad there's no way for me to see this though
Witter managed to drop N'dou twice. Once was a sweeping hook, the other knockdown being an uppercut. Witter can really punch. Cotto couldn't even dent N'dou's chin over 12 rounds. I will however concede that Witter's power hasn't been chilling recently.
Yeah me neither- it's definitely an interesting match-up. Both guys have been hanging on the cusp of elite in the division. It would be nice to add another face to the contenders at the top. I still think harris will take it.... we'll see though.
This is a very interesting fight. Harris has yet to fullfill his potential, and Witter - while he has competed at a higher level - may be a little bit past it. If Harris fights up to his ability, he will likely win. If he does not, then Witter may still have enough left to take it. I think Harris will rise to the occassion and win a UD.
I think Harris has looked more controlled and refined in his last fights. I think his frame is going to naturally make him have stamina problems at 140, but if he continues to box in a more controlled fashion, and stop trying to force knockouts he'll be a force in the division. I'm picking Harris by mid-late stoppage. No domination, he might be behind on the cards. I wouldn't call this a prediction. I think either guy can win this fight. If Hatton comes back to 140 after Floyd beats him, I'd like to see him against the winner.
This fight is 50-50 for me, and I'm getting excited about it as it gets closer. If Harris brings his A game, I think he wins the fight. The winner of this fight should be the clear #1 contender at 140 for Ricky Hatton to fight.
Harris puts on his best performances when you least expect it. Apparently, he's had a good camp and has old mentor Lennox Blackmoore to keep him under control. When Harris has his s-h-i-t together, he is a superbly well-schooled fighting machine. I expect Harris to have a great performance and wipe Witter off the face of professional boxing. Harris' textbook skills will totally discredit that so-called style employed by Witter and others.
I have picked Harris to win in the prediction thread - this was only by gut feeling. My brain says Witter, my heart doesn't care, my gut says Harris.
harris by ud. he's too well schooled for witter, though the last time i picked him against some one unorthodox maussa nailed his head to the canvas. he should be coming into this fight well focused though, and won't gas himself out gunning for the KO ala in the maussa fight. WAR 'vicious' vivian!!
