yeh would imagine they will win purse bids. i honestly think Witter should move up to welterweight and get into a mandatory position for a fight agaisnt one of Cotto, Berto, Judah/Clottey, Williams. Getting 25% of a purse from one of those would likley be his biggest payday.
Re: Branco v Witter - apparently both parties are to privately negotiate and if no agreement is reached it will go to purse bids. Hope Hennessy ensure they win the right to stage this fight as Witter could be subject to some questionable judging in Italy otherwise.
Branco doesn have any workrate to give even an unmotivated Witter trouble. Witter would smash Branco, Lyne's was horibbly robbed and the Italians were pulling all kinds to get the fight In Italy.
Witter should get back in asap OR as someone said - go up to Welter - he said he would consider it if the Hatton fight did not com off and we all know pie boy would never fight him.
I hope he works his way back and does well for himself, he deserves it. We've seen the best of him though. at least he can go to his grave knowing he never ducked anyone, unlike some frauds. He can hold his head high.
EM was just Fwank trying to get him bumped off - basically doing Hattons dirty work for him. Magee would have lost a UD.
I would suggest that Junior will take a look at himself in the mirror once he hangs his gloves up and will think: 'What might have been?' 1. There was a stupid mistake taking the Judah fight, and once in there didn't seize the moment. 2. Having a pop at Ricky Hatton did him absolutely no favours. Hatton has always been a media favourite as he is always good copy, and Sky love him. He was badly advised in this instance. 3. Underestimating Tim Bradley (or looking past him - whichever you prefer) was negligent, and pretty much sounded the death knell for him at the top level. I find him a big contradiction - he was forever going on about Fatton etc, and then later admitted that the last three pounds were a nightmare, as 'I love my chocolate'. If you ask me, a huge waste of potential, and a classical British enigma. That said, I hope he bounces back and achieves more, but ca't really see it myself.
Id like to see him take the Branco fight, win, Bradley rematch in the US, sneak a win, then move up to fight Judah at 147, depending on Zabs next bout. Lets face it, he isn't going to get the Hattton fight now, and as much as it pains me to say it, its mostly down to his showing against Bradley.
If you base whether or not he deserves the Hatton fight on evidence of the Bradley debacle, I would have to agree. I just feel a win over Witter would have looked better than one over Pedersen, Vilches or Urango :rofl
Perhaps Rob - I will rank Hatton's wins as I see them.... Tszyu Castillo Collazo Phillips Tackie Lazcano Urango Rios Magee Thaxton Maussa Pep
