Opportunities. I like that word. As though it would be such a big chance for Hatton. It would be a massive chance for Witter as it would be his pension and a chance to box in front of far more watching fans than he ever has done before. For Hatton, it would be just like any other fight.

Incidentally, Urango is a legitimate top ten contender ranked by all the major magazines. He is not "garbage" or anything close to it. Seems like Hatton can't win, he fights top pound for pounders and they're dismissed because he happened to earn money for them, he fights anyone below that level any they're dismissed as garbage. Meanwhile, the one fighter he has said he is not interested in facing for non-boxing reasons, and who is somewhere in between these two levels, is held up as some kind of shining light.

Not boasting about anything. Simply stating that guys like Magee, Tackie, Oliveira and to an extent Stewart were 10-20 ranking guys. If that's a can, I think you're setting the bar a little bit too high! Meanwhile, between Judah in 2000 and Ndou in 2005 Witter did not fight anyone who was even in the world top 30, but seems to get a free pass for it. There were plenty of better fighters he could have been facing and he steadfastly avoided them.

If we're talking about manning up and fighting a deserving candidate, Hatton manned up. He fought Tszyu. Witter had that opportunity to man up and face someone like Magee, Urkal, Corley (when he was relevant), Ward, Leija etc... He didn't do it. Had he really wanted the Hatton fight the way he claimed, the logical route would have been to have made an offer to Hatton. Attempt to open some dialogue would have been an idea. Not a sniff. Maybe the business opportunity statement is taking it a bit far, but the point is essentially valid, if you don't like someone, why would you want to make his name and fortune for him?

You surely don't seriously think the only reason Mayweather fought Hatton was because of one throwaway remark in the heat of the moment after a big win. It was all about the moolah and Hatton generated more of that than any other opponent outside of probably DLH.

As for resumes, let's do Hatton first.

    P4P#1

    Mayweather (lost)

    Other p4p fighters

    Tszyu
    Castillo

    Other world champs

    Collazo
    Urango
    Phillips
    Maussa
    Malignaggi(?)

    Other top ten fighters

    Lazcano
    Tackie
    Oliveira

Plus a host of 10-20 level guys.

    Witter

    Champs

    Kotelnik
    Harris (starched by Maussa)
    Corley

    Other top ten

    Ndou

You get the picture. With more to come as well from Hatton, don't know about Witter.

The only thing you so ably demonstrated is how poor Hatton's resume is, and how Witter would have been one of his top 3 wins. You really don't need to help me on this :good

If Witter was a SMW, he would have been Calzaghe's 3rd best win. :D

Intelligent and well thought out response, A+. Again, you just prove my point as regards the class of Hatton supporters. Why the invective? No class, just like fatboy.

Lets just hope that when old featherfist Malignaggi does a number on the Manc pork pie in November Junior Witter has the good grace not to say "I didn't need to fight him as I would have beaten him easily"....If he doesn't say it, I will.

As Cotto came in 2 pounds under the limit I don't think that you will hear any intelligent poster say that.

No but sometimes the hate for hatton is more than a reason not to have an intelligent response.:goodYes Cotto did come under two pounds but his physique wasn't the same as at WW.
