Kotelnik won last night so Witter has now beat 4 past or future champions in his last 6. Thats impressive and maybe now you can see why Hatton has ducked Witter since 2000.

Take a look at his last 6 (Despite being ducked by Hattonnot being able to secure a 'big fight':

Harris - ex-WBA being heralded as the 'new hagler' back in the day and many picked him over Floyd on here

Morua - a supposed gimme but beat Maussa who beat Harris

Corley - ex-WBO Witter won every round quite easily, remember Corley put Cotto and PBF on ***** street and went to an SD with Judah

Lynes - Lynes went on to be European champ

Kotelnik - Current WBA Champ as of last night and robbed against Mbaiye twice

Ndou - went on to win the IBF championship after losing to Witter. Witter put Ndou down 4times something Cotto couldnt do once. Hes now going for the IBF again if he wins Witter will have beat 2 current titlists

Boxing needs Witter in a HUGE fight NOW whether its Hatton, Mayweather (wont happen), Cotto or whoever lets get it on

He needs to capitalise on the Harris fight. Witter although talented struggled with Kotelnik, Lynes gave him a good fight as did Ndou whom may have won if hadnt been knocked down twice.

Morua was put in there to make Witter look good in my opinion and Witter didnt deliver. I hope he has a good performance in his next fight, then we can get on with Hatton Witter.

I like Witter and his style, but if we as boxing fans always wanna complain about the alphabet bandits, we can't go around saying he's beaten 4 'world champions'. He beat 4 alphabet titlists, and 0 world champions.
I know this doesn't really relate to the thread, but let's keep it straight.

Mayweather/Cotto/Hatton fans go around saying how many champs they've beaten and include titlists.

People ask who Witter's beaten and his last 6 have been decent opponents

Same reason why Hatton never fought Cotto?

PLus nobody ever mentions how many former champions Joe Calzaghe beat, i agree with what you're saying and i think Witter has definately stepped up with the level of fighters he's facing.

Its a damn shame that we'll probably never see him go against one of the big names.

Hatton and Witter will fight eventually, they have too or it will seriously effect Hattons legacy.
I can see why he hasn't taken it straight away after Mayweather though, he needs someone thats going to make him look good as a comeback, if he lost to Witter straight after Mayweather it would ruin him completely.

Hes fighting Malignaggi after Lazcanno and has fought around 20times in the last 7years and not managed to fit Witter into his busy schedule. Will never happen, I'm resigned to it hes picking a powder puff punching belt holder who got a gift in his last fight

I just wrote on another thread about how i think Witter Hatton has to happen otherwise in years to come it makes Hatton look like ****.
I don't blame hime for not immediately taking it after the Mayweather fight as if he loses then thats Hatton done.

Witter in the last 7 years has bought nothing to the table for Hatton, no belt, no fans, no US tv network and no big name fighters on his record bar the loss to Judah. Now that Witter has a belt and some decent names on his record it makes the fight easier to sell but its still unsure if the American tv networks would be interested.

The Lazcano fight is purely a bout in which to make Hatton look good, Lazcano is made for Hatton! Who knows what happens after this fight nothing is signed for Malignaggi yet but if it is i would expect its down to Hatton having a deal with HBO and them wanting that to be a fight over the Witter one.

Witter struggles with defensive fighters, Morua who usually isnt, changed tactics against Witter, cause his camp probably found he gets frustrated looking for openings.

Although he was badly injured against N'Dou.
