What Witter achieved in this sport considering how FW ****ed him over is exceptional in my eyes. He had to claw and scratch for everything and got no silver spoon treatment at all. He was a triple domestic champ and a world champ. All done the traditional way.

10 years Ricky did that. I dont think history will be kind to Hatton. When all is said and done its very clear he picked and chose his career.

I'd say pretty decent, he didn't get to fight alot of names in his prime which hurts him.

BTW-anyone see the Kotelnik fight? Scorecards were close on boxrec, was wondering how the fight looked.

Witter struggled somewhat in that fight. By the time he fought Kotelnik he'd lost a step. Additionally Witter was one of those classic guys who raised his performance according to his opponent. This does explain somewhat his performances against guys like Colin Lynes.
Also Witter did himself no favours with his inactivity. He simply needed to be fighting more often.

Hatton wanted the fight when they were both with Warren. Warren didn't make it which was part of the reason why Hatton left FW promotions after the Tszyu fight. After that, Warren and Hatton couldn't negotiate and later on his career, he was on a much higher level than Witter.

Just because Witter constantly called him out and the fight didn't happen, it doesn't mean Hatton ducked him.

Aside from that, Hatton had a perfect style for Witter and would have beat him up bad.

Witter's been talking about a comeback at 47 for some time. The best thing he can do is retire.

    You speak the truth.

 at the concept of Witter standing a hope in hell. It would be as one sided as MAB vs Paul Lloyd.

Hatton didn't fancy that fight one bit.
