well i've backed hatton in the past on here against the detractors.however if he doesn't agree to face witter in the next 12 months if they both keep winning then i think he loses some credibility.this talk that witter isn't a draw is bull**** when you put him in the context of his relationship with hatton,it's a genuine all british grudge match.it would be huge.fair enough hatton wouldn't earn the massive bucks he would get for a mayweather rematch or a de la hoya,but he would still earn an enormous amount.legacywise he would be damaged because lets face it he hasn't exactly cleaned up the 140 pound division has he?

We'd be talking hundreds of thousands which would be Witter's biggest payday. Hatton's looking at Pac or Malignaggi for millions.

Its the same reason why no one else in the division will look at Witter. But as I've said, its all in his own hands. A good performance on prime time TV and all of a sudden it can be made!

I would extend the statement to also include vacting 3 world titles (IBF @ 140 twice and 147 title once) rather than fighting his mandatories. He will also likely vacate the IBF a 3rd time when he beats Paulie and refuses to defend.

Not many fighters have have been stripped so many times.

If Hatton does not fight Witter before his career ends, then he will be haunted by the name Junior Witter. Ok, maybe not haunted, but you get my drift.

If Hatton-Witter does not happen, one senses it will be because of Hatton & not Witter. Junior has made it quite clear his desire to box Hatton, even willing to take pay cuts, fight wherever Ricky wants, etc.

Still no fight & I don't hold out much hope of there being one, either. Come autumn next year, Hatton will reitre. That's what I think anyway. Maybe even before that as if he faces Mayweather next spring, Hatton will lose & may call it quits then.

If Hatton does not face Witter it will leave a black eye on Ricky's record imo, & rightly so.

I like Hatton, but all this about not boxing Witter because of the insults is pathetic. Thsi is boxing, not a meeting between mothers.

 

His Man City fans don't care who he fights but boxing fans will look back at his career and ask "why didn't he fight Witter?" The fact that he's been ducking him for so long and with a variety of excuses will inevitably lead to the conclusion that he didn't fancy the fight much.

Hatton can make money by fighting guys like Lazcano so does not need Witter.

Hatton is also obviously trying to keep his dream of a rematch with PBF alive. He will avoid every risk out there to do so. Maligfaggi is made for Hatton and will make Hatton look better than he is.

PBF will be willing to fight Hatton because he knows it is easy money. PBF had one of the easiest fights of his life against Hatton and made good money, I am sure that he will be willing to do it all over again.

 

I will only regain an interest in Hatton's career when he fights Witter. All other fights are irrelevant to me until then.

 

Hatton deserved a shot at the #1 140'er Kosta by beating Oliviera and Stewart.

Witter does not deserve a shot at the #1 140'er even though he has beaten Ndou, Corley, Morua, Harris and Lynes in successive bouts.

Hatton fans need to wake up.

Im not goign to rant about it, but this is how boxing works, Ricky does not want to fight Witter, PERIOD.
