Apparently this is happening tomorrow. At least according to BoxRec.

    http://boxrec.com/en/event/762000

    I have some questions, though.

    1) El Tyson del Abasto retired from boxing a year ago, following his first ever stoppage loss several months earlier at the hands of Denis Lebedev. When did he officially announce he was unretiring?

    2) How come there has been no promotion for this? Nobody mentioning it so much as once anywhere on forums or social media?

    3) Why is there no undercard listed? The show as listed on BoxRec - with a venue in Beijing specified but no promoter or matchmaker information - has just this one bout, for Zhang's WBO Oceania heavyweight title, his scheduled sixth defense, which prompts questions:

    4) Heavyweight? What did Ramírez weigh? (if this is real and there was indeed a weigh-in)

5A) Why is Ramírez able to challenge for a minor title at heavyweight not having fought in that division since four years ago, when he KO1ed the 14-13-2 Thabiso Mogale?

5B) Why is Ramírez eligible to compete for an Oceanic title? Argentina isn't part of that region.

    6) What made Zhang's team dig up Ramírez as an opponent? How does this serve him? I mean, Ramírez has a name but I'm not sure how much credit Zhang is going to get for beating (and likely stopping, to keep his perfect KO % streak alive) the badly shot former cruiser titlist, a slugger who no longer seemed able to hang in his own division last time out?

    7) When is the Chinese Wilder going to step up and face somebody with a pulse???

I don't like this........ Very fishy - I know Zhang was investigated for match fixing but they weren't able to prove anything. One thing is for sure... Hopefully a video of the match surfaces, because I smell an Afolabi/Daser like scenario.

Man, I've seen some laughable scenarios for these kind of titles... Like when Evgeny Orlov fought Okello Peter in China for a minor title where neither had any real connection to.

Sometimes I can't believe how fast matches get slapped together in boxing, seemingly all wrapped up and completely negotiated and then happening in a few days.

Can't imagine the disadvantage this puts all of the "last minute fighters" throughout boxing at... and there's a lot of them.

So he's really more the Chinese super heavy Ali Raymi?

Yeah - small chance he's actually the Chinese Lucas Browne/Miller/Kownacki, giving him the benefit of the doubt that he isn't a fraud. Though assuming this match is legit it would not be remotely shocking if Ramirez exposes him. The Ramirez who fought Afolabi would cause most heavyweights trouble... So if he's even half of what he was this one could be interesting.

    8) If this is real, and if Zhang really is a fraud, there is the possibility that Ramírez knocks him into next week (er, technically into yesterday, I guess, since they'll be just a few shy of the easternmost timezone). Despite being shot and with his once-iron whiskers already cracked, and despite giving up 4½″ of height and 7½″ of reach, he is the more proven man in the ring and probably has the more serious power in a pound for pound if not straight up sense. He could very well expose Zhang. So what then? Does he suddenly materialize in the WBA heavyweight rankings? That'd be kind of a further embarrassment and black eye for the HW division at the moment, wouldn't it?

edit: never mind, despite being the Oceania champ, Zhang isn't currently in the WBA top 15. (thankfully! Would be a farce if he was)

Well, actually this is a rescheduled fight. I saw this fight on boxrec few months back. And before that Ramirez had some fight scheduled just don't remember against who. He actually said, that he will return for the right fight when he retired. And this certainly is the right fight to return for.

Well if an american and cuban fighter fight for the vacant WBC Continental Americas in Turkey, then anything is possible.

It wouldn't shock me in the least if Ramirez wins it by KO. Who knows how good Junlong's chin is. Ramirez has a damn good chin, don't read too much into his KO loss against Lebedev, I predicted that he'd lose by emphatic KO when that match was announced, terrible style clash for him, you don't run into a sledgehammer straight left face first repeatedly without getting brutally KO'd.
