Well, just doing a little bit of surfing earlier today and came across some info about Jurgen Brahmer (AKA Juergen Braehmer) losing to Mario Veit. Apparently, and this is according to the Boxrec biography page, in the amateurs he beat Ricky Hatton twice in 1996 (to include a first round KO) and also beat Sturm and Froch. He was campaigning at super middleweight and was the WBO I/C champ after KOing Veit in a rematch in 2007. He's scheduled to fight Hugo Hernan Garay for the WBA light heavyweight title, who won the vacant title from Barashian.

Anyway, now he's a light heavyweight, has a record of 31-1 with 25 KOs, though all of them in Germany against primarily home-grown opposition at super-middle/light heavy. Has anyone seen this guy in action? Any thoughts? From what I've read, he'll likely put a serious hurt on Garay, and will likely be the next WBA light heavyweight champion.

Any info would be appreciated! I'd like to know who this guy is before he takes on Garay on the 22nd. Thanks!

Jürgen Brähmer is the most talented german Light HW.
I saw a lot of his fights.
I think he will beat Garay and win the Title.
He won't beat guys like Calzaghe, Dawson, Johnson or Hopkins but
based on Tarvers and Woods last performances he could beat them

But he needs to stay away from the wrong people otherwise he will be
in Prison again. He was several times in Prison (1998 and 2002) for robbery and aggravated assault.
Brähmer needs to take control on his aggressiv charakter outside of the ring.
In Germany he is called "der Knast Boxer" means the prison fighter.

Brahmer is a great talent with Tyson - like psychological issues. He was in jail twice, for robbery and aggrevated assault. In terms of pure boxing talent, I rate him above Sturm, Abraham, Taylor. He may never live up to his potential though. In recent years he also struggled to be mentally present during a fight, this was the only reason he lost to Veit in their first bout. He seems to have ring ADD, similar perhaps to Taylor.

good good fighter kind athe elk of dean francis. prison bird but a very talented fighter with alot of skills and natral talent. i never though of him as a light heavy. but he shoudl be able to destroy garay.
just a few cupcakes short of a picnic. tysonesque was a good description. brutalized veit horribly in the rematch.

i made a ton of money on him beating vit 2nd time round. it was clear veits chin was there to be tapped, the betoff offers i think were 6/1 underdog to Brahmer. cant remember but in the end i had enough money to get my mpc.

shoudl beat garay but already past it in terms of prime and such. against any former titel holder he wins no doubt.

All good information, thanks! Wish the fight would be played in the US, but given the fact that neither of these guys is American . . . good luck seeing it here. I hate our lack of worldwide sports coverage.
