Jus a bad night? or was Khan's level exposed tonight?

Khan looked very very average...he barely landed any clean shots on McCloskey and never really had him in trouble...shite stoppage IMO

Whereas McCloskey never threw any punches to have Khan in trouble...

Some of Khan's flaws were exposed tonight. Too over eager, still doesn't think about range, bad balance, footwork was all the shop...he was running in squared on throwing with both hands. He was open defensively too, against somebody more game than McC that could have been fatal. He is capable of better, he wouldn't have beat Maidana with this performance, but at the same time there is still a feeling these poor habits havn't quite been ironed out.

 

You can say we didnt see enough of the fight (although i think 6 rounds is a decent amount) to write mccloskey off completely but the idea that because his gameplan was to lose (which is very ******ed) the early rounds and knock him out in the later rounds he wouldve done so is textbook denial. Just because its their gameplan doesnt mean the fighter will follow or be able to execute it.

 

That's two opponents Khan has taken out with his head now, maybe Bradley should be worried about him.

 

How can his level have been exposed when he has already beaten Maidana, Kotelnik and Malignaggi - 3 solid contenders.

 

McCloskeys is not a guy who wins fights by chasing knockouts. He catches slower guys on instinct and the further he went behind, the more ragged he would have become.
