If Kovalev is on his game, this is too much too soon for Yarde, who hasn't fought anyone of note, has a leaky defence and switches off at times. Credit to him for taking the fight though, especially in Russia. I'll be rooting for Yarde but this a big ask.

I would like to see him keeping his hands low as that during the fight.

Kovalev is old, yes, but he's been training for this fight. He looks fit, so at least he should make weight without any problems, and that always was one of his biggest problems.

I just can’t see it, Yarde really had to take harder fights before this to actually test him in deep waters as he hasn’t got a clue what that’s like.

If he goes from knocking out completely no-hopers to Kovalev then I will say fair play, the shock would be bigger than the odds suggest for me and I’m surprised they’re that close.

The biggest question is how good is Yarde's chin. If it's really strong, he has a good chance to win.

Been huge question marks about his chin in the UK because of the punching power of his opponents & the fact he doesn't spar

well he never sparred anyone decent in the beginning, like how prospects normally spar world champions early on, but that has now changed to only sparring Tunde Ajayi, his trainer

I’m looking forward to seeing huge hypejob Yarde getting thumped by Kovalev and laughing at all the idiots on here that backed him to win

Sadly it sounds like Kovalev isn't focused at all and is training on vodka. Being sloppy against a guy like Yarde means becoming a highight reel.

What kind of lowlife would wish for Kovalev to be KO'd in Russia against Yarde. You should be ashamed of that desire even entering your head, let alone putting your name to the thought for all to see.

Better question is why are you supporting woman beating scumbag Kovalev?

Yarde is not a hype job. There is no hype for Yarde. Most boxing fans and even casual fans perceive him as a joke and the consensus across the boxing public is largely that he's going to be way out of his depth.

Yarde is a complete unfancied underdog here, just look at the majority of the replies. He's certainly not a hype job, there is little to no hype around Yarde as a world contender.

Could be a genius move in the long-term for his general health and well-being. Getting hit on the head with a head guard and large gloves repeatedly throughout fight camps is still going to cause damage.

Tunde and Yarde are trailblazers. They will revolutionise boxing if Yarde wins this month.

Yarde is the real deal. He is going to knock Kovalev out round 5-8. I see some of you getting in the classic "Kovalev is shot etc" but he is still a world class fighter and this will be a great win for Yarde.
