I'd have to disagre with you there.

All the evidence points towards Dunne having an inability to take too many good shots and he would have had to avoid anything big for all 12 rounds. There is no evidence to suggest that he was THAT good.

To be fair Bernard always had trouble when the crowd wanted a fight, anyone would that many people chanting his name he always tried to put on a good show. A lot of his fights before Cordoba and Poon you could see he could keep people at bay with his movement but always let them get in for a scrap.

 

Cintron in Margo 2 he knew he wasn't able to stop him yet he tried it again with no plan b

 

Ali-Liston II. Maybe the first fight as well, but the rematch most definitely.

I remember thinking, what the heck are you doing Kermit? Cintron is just one of those fighters with KO on his mind all the time which leads him to fighting wrong fights, never fully utilised his tools IMO.

My suggestion would be Terry Norris in his first fight with Simon Brown, Norris had all the tools to make it a comfortable night if he'd just boxed, but no he decides to slug with the fearsome Brown and gets starched in 4. Although unlike Cintron he learnt from his mistakes in the rematch.

Oh and what was Nate Cambell thinking against Peden? atsch I like Nate but that was just unforgiveable. Come to think of it Nate's always thought he's smarter than he really is. He has always tried to floss the fact that he is his own promoter etc. All he's done imo is **** more matchmakers and networks off than doing any good for himself. Very few fighters can politically pull this off, and a 37 year old pompass like Campbell is getting laughed at behind the scenes. Nate has whored himself out to every mom and pop dial on the planet looking for that 8 figure payday - I'm surprised he wasn't roped off.

 

Some of the choices are frankly bizarre...

How can you claim either Lacy or Maccarinelli had 'bad nights' or 'got it wrong' (tactically)?

Neither were anywhere near good enough to win the fight and it was painfully obvious. It's all very well saying if Lacy morphed into the 168lb Tyson he could have done something different but everybody has a talent limit. There was nothing Lacy could do. Same with Maccarinelli, he was boxing okay and then got laid out by the first solid shot, there is no way to avoid that...
