i was astonished to hear cotto post-fight say that his whole camp had been built around speed and that he honestly believed he was as quick, if not quicker than pac!

 

back in there day it was 15rounds and leonard argued for 12 rounds
as the final round were running out hagler was starting to catch sugar ray
if it went another 3 ithink there would have been a different result plus ther was all rthe talk of the eye problem sugar had and that i think played in haglers mind because
if you watch the fight hagler had plenty of chances to off load the big guns when he had sugar in the corners but never did?

 

Fair enough on the rounds issue (although Hagler had a largely ineffective last round, Leonard was undoubtably tiring) but to say Hagler eased off on Leonard because of the eye is crazy.

I can't remember which one of the two fights I had Hopkins winning.

In both he basically handed the early rounds to Taylor on a platter.

 

By that stage of his career I'm not sure Hopkins could do much else against a young mover.

 

He would have lost anyway but Gatti trying to outbox Mayweather was utter lunacy. atsch

 

Zab Judah V Cotto. Why didn't he throw more left uppercuts? He was the one to really expose Cotto up the middle and the rest is history. Taylor V AA all he had to do was keep a good workrate and cover up for the predictable last 30 seconds of every round rally. Paulie V Hatton too. Paulie had all the skills to beat him.

 

Jack Lowe teliing Pavlik double the jab when he got his ass whooped by Hopkins. Katsidis trainer V Diaz too was bad.

 

I just watched Enzo Vs Haye again.

Just as funny as the last time I watched it.

And about half a second later Haye smashes a right into Enzo's head and he's down :rofl

 

Yeah Katsidis is a very good fighter real gym rat and extremely strong at 140 his last win against Escobedo was very impressive.

Just seen another one Dominick Guinn V Toney. Guinn following and laying on Toney on the ropes all night waiting to get countered. Tall guy fighting short.

 

Can't agree with you there mate. People were predicting Malignaggi would cause Hatton all sorts of trouble but nothing Paulie could of done in that fight could of changed the outcome. Did'nt have the power to discourage or the strength or footwork to keep him off. Hattons perfectly timed right hand in the 2nd had him out on his feet, that took everything away from Malignaggi and put him in survival mode. He did nothing but hold for dear life the rest of the fight. I went over for this fight and was pretty disapointed with Paulies performance after all the talk and weigh in antics.
I see the fight with Kahn taking a similar route only ending sooner.
