If you look at their shared opponents, Parker does come off too well.
Kebabyal beat a much younger Chisora in an upset and did it comfortably. He also stopped Zhang getting dropped once.
Parker almost got beaten by an old Chisora and beat Zhang on points getting dropped twice.

Let's hope none of them get the Usyk fight since they both liked sitting on their ranking for years fighting no-hopers.

Croatian is actually more deserving than both of them.

Parker should fight Dubious or Croatian. I think both KO him.

I think it should be Kabayel and don't get people losing sleep that Usyk didn't fight Parker. But it appears Parker is next. Usyk is fighting the Parker v Wardley winner. If he wasn't he'd have let the WBO strip him.

A big part of why Kabayel deserves the shot more is he had to wait longer to get any title shot and is still unbeaten. While Parker got this chance long long ago in 2016. Of course Parker has a better SOS his first title shot was Ruiz in 2016 and while hes lost his belt hes been at the world level ever since. Kabayels first title shot was Zhang in his last fight. He really only broke through at the world level with the Sanchez win.

 

ya ya but he'll end up fighting not to get ktfo like he always does at the climactic moment. better that doubt lives in your imagination. it'll be more rewarding than the realization.

All true and usyk already now should have announced parker as next opponent for wbo title defence .

Unfortunetly he wobbles around some injuries , extensions , dancing and football events . Wbo covers it .

I do not expect he will fight parker or kabayel at all , imho its just words about the time off with family etc etc .

 

His team have said they will be fight Parker or Wardley dependant on the result

His team does not need to say anything but should have negotiated the title defence against parker . They obviously ran away

 

Kabayel and Parker are the only two names it should be, but Parker beat a better version of Zhang coming off a career-best highlight reel KO of Joyce, and Wilder was in the top 5 in the world before Parker beat him. Wilder was a 1/6 betting favourite going into that fight, and nobody really gave him a chance. It was only after Parker battered him that everyone said he was shot.

He also fought Bakole at 2 days' notice when Dubois pulled out with a "sickness" - Parker is the one who deserves it more, I think. If it's Kabayel instead of Parker, then that's not the worst thing in the world, but if it's anyone else, then it's not going to be a worthwhile fight.

 

Kabayel would be even better than parker but i guarantee you usyk will run from him until he retires . Not soft belly vs the most brutal body puncher of the division .

 

I'm against the majority here but I actually like the different titles and how chaotic and the decentralised nature of boxing. It makes the sport feel bigger and stops one dickhead from taking over, makes becoming undisputed an actual difficult challenge that requires not just skill in the ring, but clout, popularity and the stars aligning.

And of course if someone wants to be undisputed they have to defend their belts and fight regularly otherwise they can drop them and retire on top. Parker is the clear front runner, especially if he comes through Huni, not only as the WBO mandatory, but also as he has the best recent win streak of any other heavyweight, no one else comes close atm, he beat two top 5 fighters, and a top 10 fighter.

Next closest is Kabayel who beat one top 20 fighter, a fringe top 10 and a top 5. Nearly everyone else is still building from losses, Hrgovic is starting to put some decent wins together but still needs something against a top 10 guy, Chisora is the same, Itauma needs at least a win against a top 20 fighter and then top 10 as well.

 

Also I still don't understand how people think Kabayel deserves a title shot just because he has been waiting for one and hasn't had one yet. He deserves a title shot because of the fighters he has recently beaten, no one deserves a title shot just because they have been in the sport for a while.

Kabayel was content to sit at home knocking out taxi drivers once a year after his Chisora win, not activities that show a fighter "deserves" a shot, its only the Turki money that has enticed him to actually put himself out there.

Whereas, Kabayel - good fighter don't get me wrong but he is fighting Hysa next apparently??!!
