Ridiculous thing to say, because if anything Cotto will find it easier on the inside, where he can work the body and use his handspeed to his advantage, and also prevent Margarito getting off as many punches as he would like with his long arms.

The last time Margarito was down was on an overhand right directly on the chin in 99' against Perez, and that was a legitimate knockdown nobody can make any excuses for.

However, we you start going back further than that and you talk about Margarito getting dropped by Soberanes on a body shot, and people like that, this was a period when Margarito was 17-18 years old fighting against guys 27-28 years old. Literally, Margarito was 18 fighting a guy who was 28 years old. Do you really put alot of stock in the fact that a 28 year old man knocked down a 18 year old kid on a body shot? Soberanes had 57 pro fights and Margarito had 13 at that point.

Margarito wasn't taking punches very well in his teens, and he wasn't giving punches very well in his teens as a professional boxer, but he the **** was, really? Cotto didn't debut as a pro until he was 20 years old, Margarito debuted when he was 15 years old. Cotto didn't have that experience. I doubt very seriously he would have handled that type of adversity any better.

margo had a hard time walking through PW punches, which on that night didn't look too hard. Cotto is a heavier puncher than williamas. Both of these guys have good power neither has great power, margo maybe a little more. I think this will be a really exciting fight that could go either way. Margo is not the "most feared guy in boxing" BS that he was promoting himself as...PW exposed that lie as did Winky when he called Margo out when Margo was talking too much (check the ESB archives). Margo is a very game rugged, pretty skilled fighter who is unusually large and strong for a WW and Cotto is a heavy hitting fighter with great heart and good overall ability. These are excellent...but not phenomenal type fighters...and they will both come to fight....reminds me of Corralles(RIP) and castillo in that sense. Could go either way, anyone who makes this one seem like an obvious conclusion in either direction is either a bold-faced liar or a fool. It's a great matchup which could end in round 1 or be a 12 round war. A fight with completely open landscape of possibilities-which is a very rare thing.

If Cotto is on the inside Margarito can land a upper cut because thats what should a taller man do on the inside. The last time I checked Margarito has a good one.

    Cotto's invisible.......

but on a serious note, cotto's too fast and too slick to lose......IF he gets out banged...and notice i said IF, he can just stick and move.....cotto's best punch may be his left hook...but his second best punch (his jab) aint no joke either, go back and watch the mosley fight...his jabs move shanes head like a straight, cotto's the far superior fighter here.....but lets just wait one more week for it to be proven

I think this is where that '"styles make fights" type thing where everyone knows Cotto is the better boxer but I think Margarito is a bad match up and he cant slip all of Margarito's punches. I just think he is overmatched by a bigger fighter. Lets see if he has stamina issues with Margarito like he did in the Shane fight.

alright then look at it like this......when margarito is at his best he boars his way to the body with chin out, head down throwing tons of punches.....basically throwing tons of punches is his defense aswell as his offense, which worked perfect against cintron because he's a tall fighter who only knows how to go forward....meaning if he cant go forward he only has 2 options go back or go down....and obviously we know what happend

on the other hand when margarito chooses to turn it up and headhunt as showed in his fight with golden johnson....he needs room for his long arms to bang...basically you gotta be at the end of his punches, but at the same time the more punches he throws the sloppier he gets, since he's not a tecnhique based boxer....and on top of that his hands arent very fast......

so with that said if Margarito A) choses to go to the body and exchange blows... Cotto has the advantage since he's the smaller fighter and it will be easier for him to get inside his chest and go to his body then it would be for margarito to get into Cotto's chest and bang to cotto's body.....but with that aside, Cotto arm's are shorter and his hands are faster, which means that in the inside Cotto's capable of both getting off, and landing first......meaning he can beat margarito to the punch

now if margarito decides to B) headhunt like he did against Johnson....he's gonna have to have Cotto at the suitable distance to land his punches, and between his long arms, his slow hands, and often wide punches... i certainly doubt he'll be able to land to many headshots on the superior boxer that is Miguel Cotto.....so no matter how you slice it, Cotto's just the better man.....but i also have to factor in Cotto's less then granite chin.... but if you look at the fighters who have rocked him before.....they've all been fighters with above average hand speed, so i honestly dont think that will be a problem, honestly i think Margarito's in for the fight of his life and people are not taking in the fact that 2008 Cotto is a far superior fighter then that of the 05 06 Cotto.... hell maybe even the 07 Cotto, while margarito hasn't added anything to his arsenal at all..... had this fight taken place a few years back it might be a different story, but i think this is gonna be all Cotto.....well thats just my analysis anyways, since anything can happen in boxing

But what happens if Margarito uses his reach? He doesnt have a great jab like Cotto but it is good. Also his punches are slow and wide but some times its hard to see wide punches coming because he throws alot of them from different angles. Also he doenst have to be fast with upper cuts which Cotto will be vulnerable to when he is on the inside trying to bang at that body. I just think its a bad match up for Cotto. I think if Margarito cant beat Cotto no one at welterweight can.

That's easier said than done but for Cotto to win, he has masterfully blend boxing and brawling. He must do the latter when the opportunities present itself and are to his advantage.

Seriously hurt... No. Dazed, buzzed like in the Judah fight, yes. Unless your PBF, almost every fighter who fights the elite in their division gets buzzed\dazed. :hey

Cotto was seriously hurt againt Torres and Corely and that was a weight issue. :deal
