well.....i'm not gonna dispute anything you just said, it's all true.....wide punches can hit you from a blind spot and be effective and their even more deadly if their thrown as much as margarito throws them... and cotto is open for an uppercut, but the way i see it is, if Judah or Mosley couldn't stop him......Margarito cant, granted Margarito does have more power then the both of them, cotto's boxing instincts will save him if he gets hurt, as they have in the past.....meaning if and when that uppercut does rock him, cotto can move and out box margarito untill he's ready to get back and there and bang away or hell....even for the rest of the 12 rounds, but respect to you and respect to margarito because regardless of who wins or how they win i'm happy the fight even happend in the first place......

Good debate bro, may the best man win, if Cotto wins I will give him the respect. Respect to you too. Peace.

Body is way too skinny so Cotto will destroy that. Margarito has a better frame that Williams for Cotto's body attack. I like Berto but Cotto has a more sturdy chin.

IF COTTO IS ABLE TO KO/TKO MARG (NOT SAYING HE CAN), THEN YES, I THINK PAUL W WOULDN'T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST COTTO. BTW, MARGARITO WOULD DEFINITELY BEAT HIM IN BRUTAL FASHION IN A REMATCH, IMO. HE LEARNED HIS LESSON.

yeah i dont think paul williams would make for much of fight.... and i like Berto and i think he'd put him to to this test with his combination of speed and power, but i dont think he would go 8rounds with Cotto.... although Judah's my favorite fighter and in the welterweight division and i also like Berto and Mosley, i dont think there's anyone at 147 right now who can beat Cotto

Let's say he does beat Margarito this Saturday, do we see the beginning of a campaign by Cotto to take out the other boxing federation champions to become the second person ever to hold all WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO titles in a single weight division and create his legacy as the best welterweight ever?

i'd say so....he has as good as shot now as ever, although i hated mayweather, i think he posed the biggest threat cotto....and i think retiring was stupid when he could of gained so much from fighting him, although he could of also lost alot.....as long as he doesnt go up to 154 i dont really see him losing, but a part of me wants to see margarito win so i can see de la hoya get beat up by a real mexican fighter

It took Margarito to land over 100 power shots to stop cintron who has no heart and no defense. If you watch that fight you see what little true power Margarito has. He is just a strong puncher. Watch how many counter left hooks Cotto catches him with.

I made this thread because i think the first fighter to knock the other out will be the winner...

Cotto has been seriously buzzed by zab & shane and in other situations as well... the thing about it is the fighters didn't capitalize on the opportunity AT ALL!! if magarito gets this opprotunity BEST BELIEVE HE WILL FINISH COTTO OFF!!!!

    now on the other hand
we all know margarito is probably going to come @ cotto like a mad man ...will he be able to keep up that pace for 12 rounds? hell no..

this fight is going to be a battle of attrition...

the first person to fall is the loser

If I were betting real money, I wouldn't put it on the boxer but on the over-under. But I agree with you, I have a feeling this fight won't go the full 12 with someone getting KOed.

its impossible that it does really if you think about it..

Cotto can box but not that good to just sit there and easily outbox margo for 12 rounds..
marg is going to chase him all over the damn place...

either marg is going to strike oil... or pay the consequences
