Haye vs Ruiz provided more entertainment and clean power punching than Wlads last 10 fights put together.

Yes they are real American contenders who performed very well PRIOR to meeting Mr steelhammer. They have youth, speed or power unlike Mr John Ruiz.

Well, at least Klitschkos are fighting Americans fighters who have beaten ranked fighters in recent years. Ruiz, on the other hand, had lost 3 of his 6 last fights prior to the Haye fight. His last decent, somewhat, win was against McCline. The same McCline who got destroyed by Arreola in 4 rounds.

That one-two is a thing of beauty.

Its alot better than jab, grab, jab, grab Klitschko style.

    Everyone knows that was entertaining.

Although it was a good win and good practice for Haye I wasn't overly impressed but he may have used this as a sparring session, he needed it and he definately was never hurt by Ruiz. Congrats

When can we expect this list of the 20 American heavyweights that are better currently than John Ruiz?

I think the ts is being a little harsh. Your view couldn't have been that great frp, row 6 then! let me tell you how it looked on tv. Yes Haye went backwards, but he fought aggressive and looked pretty decent. Yeah he got tagged a couple times but most of the time he was able to get his punches off before Ruiz. If Haye going backwards can still be more entertaining and devastating than Wlad going forward, imagine what he do if he didn't go backwards! Come on, news flash for you, going backwards and taking the aggressor off balance, and putting in well timed counters is a skill not to be mocked.

I love seeing a skilled aggressive counter puncher make a come forward brawler look silly. It's beautiful to watch. Also I dunno how you can down play Haye's power, that is brutal power. And the shots that landed on Ruiz rocked his head back, you could see the whip in the replays. Not every punch needs to be a knock out punch! Only 2 men have stopped Ruiz, no man had even come close to stopping Valuev. Haye almost did it to Valuev and stopped Ruiz after smashing him up for 9 rounds. I am telling you, if it went on any longer Ruiz may have walked out of there seriously damaged. If Haye lands those shots on ANYONE out there, he will stop them. He also showed that he can take the punch of a heavyweight to some extent. Of course the Klits hit harder than Ruiz so it remains to be seen, but Haye did a job stopped a tough durable 2 time ex champ, who was in decent shape and came to fight. There are things to work on and he is learning.

I think one more fight and then go for a Wlad. Wlad will fear power like this, and will fight the most cautious you have ever seen him fight, as he knows one slip and its lights out.

Listen, you lot aint got **** in the heavyweight division. You wanna hate on our guys because of nothing more than envy! YOU WISH YOU HAD AN ATHLETE LIKE HAYE WITH SKILLS AND BIG POWER. Your fat, overweight heartless bottle jobs are pathetic. Ruiz is atleast a title holder who has mixed it with good company. None of your other guys have done anything of note in the HW division.

Face facts though, to put it in perspective, American heavyweight boxing is dead! there are NO contenders. Ruiz was the best you had cos the guy comes to fight, and can take a shot. Compare him to the rest and you will see he is clearly the best of a bad bunch.

If you want to see skill, speed, power and most of all entertainment, get behind Haye, there isn't a heavyweight in the world right now, who brings all that in one package. Ain't no amount of bull crap, is going to persuade me otherwise.

Mr Rainmaker talks sense, I have lurked on this forum for a while reading aggresive pea brain rantings. Haye beats durable yank shock. One fight at a time eh! Evander was a God do not compare one ex cruiser weight with another but Tillis/Barret and got Lucky Douglas/Valuez are not too far apart. Evander did a job and Haye has done a job similarity may end here but enjoy the the ride you miserable Sh** heads.

I think your right in that Haye talks a much better fight then he fights but that's only because p4p there are few that can talk a better fight then him. With respect to the punching power I think he;s got brillian punching power. What people have to realize is that when a top class fighter can see your punches coming and is prepared to take them it takes a lot to blow through them. Just look at the Fragomeni fight or Vlad's fight with Arreola. Thats another good example of a pressure fighter (like Ruiz) walking through countless hard bombs because he just decided he was going to take the shots and he could see them all coming.

Personally I think the fact that he had Ruiz onthe deck with the first shot and then had him on the deck a further 3 more times is a good enough example of his punching power. If you want to criticise something the fact that haye never bothered to go to the body would in my mind be the first place to start.

The grappling and spoiling wasn't there because against a fast natural counter puncher with good movement Ruiz's grab and maul tactic doesn't work. THe Roy jones fight is the best example of this.

YOu may be right about him not being able to handle the klitchkos though. Id have to think a bit more on that one. Wlad probably has more power then him. I think him and Vitali are close.
