No not at all. If you lose composure before a fight there are no excuses. PBF won and he deserved it tho I thought Cortez stunk. I just wanted to know why Hatton was so affected.

maybe it was that hatton realized that this was not some WBU bum or an over the hill fighter he was fighting!!

but to be honest, hatton looked his usual. had he been soooo effected, he would have frozen in the first round.

this was certainly NOT the case!!!!

Its obvious he was nervous because he was fighting Floyd. He looked seriously nervous/worried and that was why. He was probably worried in the same way against Tyszu but winning the first 2 rounds calmed him down.

Everyone gets a bit worried intimdated against Floyd even though he isnt a big puncher, exception would be Delahoya and Judah who stayed in the zone until Mayweather turned it on them

yeah sky interviewed him in the dreesing room about 40 mins before the fight (which is a bad idea i think) and i've never seem him look as nervous, he was very quiet and subdued.

I didnt think he looked composed at all in the fight, even when he nearly knocked PBF down in the 1st

He did a live Sky Sports interview in the dressing room before the Lacy/Manfredo fight and looked really nervous and he did in his entrance to the ring aswell...I've never seen him like that before. I feel the nerves took over him and cost him in the entire fight, hopefully he learn from this and come back stronger.

Maybe he shouted "Iv changed my mind , i was wrong , ****ing run my son "

On a serious note though there cant be any excuses if he didnt get anysleep the night before whos fault is that. At the end of the day two fighters got in a ring on equal terms as possible in sport and one got dominated. Floyd was just the far better fighter and would win 10 more times out 10 probably.

(yes i am british and yes i am a hatton fan)

I totally agree. If a picture tells a story then its the one of Hatton watching the spice girls the next night

:yep It was no doubt the biggest stage he'd been on with HBO following him around making 24/7 for the world to see every step he takes, along with regional press being stepped up no doubt for the magnitude of the fight. As other posters have noted he showed visible signs of heavy stress, quite understandably, with him facing the acknowledged #1 p4p fighter on the planet and needing to fight an absolutely perfect fight to stand a chance. Credit to Ricky for taking the fight and going out swinging.

I think Hatton should retire after one more fight win or lose.

I cant make up my mind weather he should retire or not. Graham thinks he should but wont push him until he see a downward slide. Thing is with fighters like hatton who take a lot of hits to the head it might only be one fight away from punch drunk you just never know until its to late. I like hatton and wouldnt want to see that. But on the other hand he could be years and a few fights from that situation and it would be good to see him fight a few more fights at his very respectable skill level and finish by becoming a well regarded fighter in britain even if that means not being the very best. Good luck to him anyway
