He'd just seen Hopkins and JC doing it, he was just playing up to the crowd. You read too much into these things sometimes IMHO.

If he had gone down it would have counted as a knock down as contact was made and he went back from the punch.

True, but those of us who studied the fight closely know what happened.

And who's saying that? Lack of sleep will definitely affect how you perfom in the biggest fight of your life, don't you think? But no, I wasn't saying that's why he lost. I ASKED a question, that's all.

And please quit posting your ridiculous emoticons. They are tasteless and immature.

Thank you for having some sense. :good

And I think Ricky looked a little nervous to starting up, but that's only natural because this was the biggest fight of his life. I wouldn't chalk it, or his performance, up to a lack of sleep. In fact I'd be shocked if lack of sleep was the actual cause, because professional fighters shouldn't have trouble with that, especially a great one like Hatton.

Are you sure he was angry? Would he not have been shouting "Go ****ing have him RIck!" with a lot of passion?

I dunno which bit you are talking about so I dunno. Show us a vid.

100% agreed. All I wanted to know is if anyone knows if the rumour was true. It's only a minor point, I know, but on top of everything else I wondered if his stamina and his overall mood could have been affected by it. Personally, I can be a snappy ******* when I haven't slept!

This is kinda unrelated, but I am a musician. I once had to play an important gig after having no sleep and doing lots of travelling. I didn't think I would perform well at all, but when I stepped on that stage the adrenaline kicked in and any tiredness was over-ridden for an hour or so. I happened to play one of the best shows of my life that night.

They were having a proper row. Someone suggested that they couldnt find his mouthpiece and thats why it happened. I don't think the media intrusion helped him one bit either, especially showing the video of well wishers to him before the fight...he looked like a man about to get the lethal injection:-(

I kind of agree but I think that, if it Frank "the fiddler" Warren would have made a point of letting the World know that everyone around Ricky had ****ed the fight up for him but as far as I know, Warren hasn't uttered a word,

I do think too much was going on before this fight but to be perfectly honest, unfortunately I think some of that blame lays at Ricks feet. I think he got himself far to emotional for this fight, he seemed to me to be quite out of control.

It's such a shame because he really is one of the nicest lads you could meet and I hate the fact that he is suffering so much now. I know for a fact that he would give Floyd all the money he earned on the fight if he could have won it fair and square.

Not me. I think, if anything, the video would have given him strength. Ricky ****ed up. His plan didn't work. Some people can't accept it, but Floyd was the better fighter and handled himself brilliantly.

No need to paint us all with the same brush, Mr. StealthBomber. ;)
