You can't rate a fighter by merely assessing the quality of his opponents (although clearly it's important), unless there are other fighters who have been clearly ducked which can then be factored in. Otherwise we're in the realms of 'you can only beat what's put in front of you'.

The problem with this thread is it's over-simplistic as it totally overlooks, skill sets and the eye test. A fighter can be better than their resume implies and, conversely, they can be worse, when factoring in opponents' assumed peaks etc...

Plus, the term overrated is in itself overrated....

LOL My mom is a white woman from Europe and my father is a black man from Arkanas. Married in 1959, when it was illegal for whites and blacks to marry here in the US. So pulling the race card on me is very foolish. I have nothing but praise and respect for Loma. Just last night I posted that Crawford needs to dominate Spence to take the #1 spot. I never said you were wrong that Loma has better wins than Crawford. I just don't believe Loma's wins are that much better.

Bro Walters almost got knocked out by a shell of a former flyweight, the Gamboa that Crawford fought would have annihilated him.

Crawford is not overrated for me, him and Loma are the best fighters at the moment no doubt in my mind. Spence, I used to think he's very overrated. Now, not as much but he's still not done all that much to get the praise he's getting. He's not even faced a proper top welterweight.

Brook? He was the #1 WW. Besides that I would agree though. Also to be fair to Spence, what top welterweight is willing to fight him? Thurman, Garcia, and Porter all ducked him. A fight with Crawford is just hard to make, what network would they fight on? Thurman/Garcia/Porter all easy fights to be made.

Crawford is very talented, Spence is a physical beast too. Neither are anywhere near top 15/20 Welterweights O.A.T yet.

Lomachenko has **** all to do with this thread how has he been brought up?

My $0.02 on it is that

    Crawford's résumé is pretty poor:

Gamboa - Good fighter but moving up in weight.
Postol - Good fighter, Good champ, coming off a his best win. Probably Crawford's best win
Horn - Big name, Big Guy not a good boxer, Crawford moved up to beat him
Khan - Shot to ****, was good in his day but is awful now and lost both of his key attributes in his speed and heart

Lomachenko's résumé is good but overrated by his stans

Linares - Good win, very good fighter that gets **** on alot, Number 1 in the division (by ring) before Loma beat him. Loma's best win imo
Rigo - Great proven fighter, shot and coming up in weight - not a good win
Walters - Very good win over a prime powerful undefeated champion.
Russel Jr - Speed demon, very good win, prime Undefeated contender, future champion
Pedraza - Prime two weight world champion, very good win, about equal with Postol imo. Loma was injured
Martinez - close to prime 3 time champion coming of a win and draw over Loma's only conquerer. Loma moved up to fight him, better win than Horn imo

Not even including Crolla but imo he's a better win than Khan now.

Both are top 5 pfp talents

Damaged goods, you don't move up two weight classes against a devastating puncher, get destroyed in the process, two weight classes down and emerge the same fighter.

He should have no problems getting one of those three now since the Mikey fight did well. If he does his thing against them, that will massively improve his resume.

Usyk and Canelo should be ranked higher than both Spence and Crawford

Nobody with arguably 4-5 losses is above either Spence or Crawford.

What has Crawford really done that sets him a part from everybody else? Thurman, Danny, Mikey, Loma, Usyk, AJ, Wilder, and Fury all have better names.
