He was never one of those "fast on their feet" type fighters even at his best weight, and now that hes even bigger he even has less foot speed. He had a good win in his last fight, but IMO that had more to do with the what the champion didn't do, rather than what the challenger did. I just see Andre as being too fast and explosive for Guerrero, who doesn't have the power to KO him or the foot speed at 147 to out box him over 12 rounds. For every shot that Guerrero lands, i see Berto landing like 3 or 4 more.

But regardless of what i feel about Robert's chances, its still a good match up to be made on paper and exactly what the welterweight division needs.

i like robert as a fighter but he is in the wrong division , berto too big too strong coupled with great speed , i feel robert is the better technician of the two but berto has him in physicality

I just can't see him escaping Berto's explosive combo's. He's there for the taking but i have to credit him and his team for taking such a dangerous fight.

Unless the layoff has effected Andre, I too don't see much in the way of him getting past Guerrero.

Though I've long grown tired of Guerrero's loud claims of unwarranted grandeur and for sometime now have desired to see his scalp collected by anyone of the capable opponents that he believes to be better than, I do to some extent respect his unwavering bravado.

That said, I hope Berto crushes him.

I do think the same way, but Guerrero's attributes make him a nightmare for Berto. Southpaw, high workrate, and decent boxing those 3 things have always given Berto trouble in the past. I give a slight edge to Berto, but if Guerrero can weather the storm, then Berto will be in a fight. Has a habit of getting drawn into them looks sensational vs limited opposition, but struggles with Ortiz and Collazo. Guerrero brings alittle of both those fighters. I suspect Berto buikds early lead, Guerrero gets in his groove stuns Berto on occasion, and Berto wins last 2-3 rounds in a fan friendly competitive fight.

Good post but i think the thing with Collazo is that he was really dedicated to Berto's body early and had a very high work rate, on top of him owning the inside battle. I always seen Guerrero as a fighter who could fight a little on the inside when he had to, but is mainly a tall lanky southpaw that tries to keep the fight on the outside and control things with the right jab/straight left combo. I just can't see him winning with that style. He won't live in the trenches the way Collazo did, who was hurting Berto with inside power shots and flurries on numerous occasions. Guerrero didn't really punch in combo's in his last fight.

Berto's gonna steamroll him. easy work. he will beat him up and ko him by rd 4. Guerrero is weak at 147 and not as fast either.

Makes sense, but i don't see him beating Berto and certainly not Manny or Floyd. In fact even before he moved up, there were fighters in his division that he wouldn't have beaten. IMO Rios and Marquez would have beaten him at 135.

I respect Guerrero for takin this fight he coulda tried to stall or fight someone **** to get a Floyd fight, Berto should ko him relatively easy, although they both have bad stamina Berto still throws hard shots in the second half of fights, Guerrero looked dead in the second half against Aydin

He barely got by Aydin, a plodder, who had he put some combos together, probably would have taken RG out of there. As it was he had Guerrero on his bike much of the time, seemingly at the ends of his reserves. I don't think he survives a similar situation vs Berto. He won't have all that much of a significant handspeed advantage either.

I give credit for being ambitious and taking a fight like this. I love it when boxers seek out, test their limits. It's when you really get to see their character, what they're made of as fighters. Unfortunately for Guerrero, I'm thinking he has found his limit.

Berto tko, possibly while behind on points.

How long has it been since berto fought, has to be well over a year. He's been plagued with injuries and other allegations. I do wonder how this will effect him in the ring.

Berto is a solid boxer and should be too good for guerrero.
